So what determines whether someone who is taking lots of drugs will feel bored when they are sober? I once had a friend who I thought was my friend until I realized he intended to take advantage of me and use my money to support his addiction, and when I decided to not be his friend anymore and ditched him he ended up being sober for 25 days and his brother said he actually LIKED BEING SOBER! So why did he not have a "being sober is boring" attitude? I still haven't figured that out.

Yeah, the thing with being sober after period of taking alcohol or drugs (I was also selling drugs, so a lot of crazy memories) is that life is really boring and sucks, but I can also remember how it sucked when I couldn't control myself and destroy my life with abuse of substances. That wasn't great. You just need to learn how to enjoy the life sober. Change your mindset. Start to enjoy what you got and stop being a bitch.

6 yrs clean, but definitely understand what he means that early in sobriety. Dont have crazy nights anymore, but also wake up knowing I didnt hurt anyone or myself, or woke up in jail, and can remember what I did. Relateable scene though😂

You can actually get a little buzz eventually. They used to give us non-alcoholic beer in the Navy. People would give them away, after 6 you were a little something.
