I also had a phase where I was sober and doing a hell of a lot of sport, which was a damn good phase too, definitely. But there are people who are prone to addiction, who are genetically prone to addiction. And there is nothing you can do. They think drugs or other substances or what I know . That's the point, and there's nothing you can do about it, that's just genetics.

Everyone that gets sober always talks about how great they feel and life is better etc. Truth to be told, it does not only have positive effects. People treating you like an outcast and feel uncomfortable around you at parties because you don't drink, and oftentimes they stop inviting you out and want you to be the designated driver, and expect you to watch everyone so they don't fuck up. It can be disastrous really sometimes.
@ANTERIORcs

You know, you can hang out with your friends without anyone of you having to get "fucked" right? If your friends treat you like an outcast just because you don't wanna drink then you're hanging with the wrong dudes. I drink to the point of just feeling the buzz, not more than a couple of beers and it's still enough to get the blood flowing. What's even better is I don't wake up fucked the next morning, I remember everything that happened and I still "drink" but just not enough to get wasted. I wouldn't wanna reach a point in my life ever where I can't function normally sober, fuck that.

On the one hand, I'm proud of myself that I've made it this far, of course ... But still it's fucking boring, this scene just describes it perfectly 😅😬 Edit: I'm 157 days sober now. I feel great ❤️ And I rarely have the thought that I want to kill myself from boredom 😌👍 Edit: On October 18th I'll be sober for a year, I can already see the goal. Giving up drinking was the best decision of my life❤️😊 The boredom is gone too. If your health is in order, then you kind of feel great all the time. Eating rare beef and other sources of adequate nutrition, sleeping well, and getting enough sun all culminates in a constant mild "high" throughout the day. I think drugs and alcohol (including caffeine, tbh) are just coping mechanisms for feeling ill, either mentally, physically, or spiritually.

When we do we often talk about how we need to do stuff together that doesn't involve alcohol or drugs, and we do occasionally like go to the cinema but probably not enough. I use to worry our friendship relied on drink and drugs, but in the last year we have made more of an effort to do more sober activities together and as I said we could still do more. Actually non-alcoholic beer can totally get people drunk if they drink enough of it. It typically has 0.5% alcohol, about a tenth the alcohol content of the average beer. (You can't make beer without alcohol). If you drink dozens and dozens you can get drunk. It sounds extreme, but there are known cases of alcoholics drinking that many and thinking it was okay. For this reason, most experts suggest that alcoholics not drink non-alcoholic beer.

@@joecobb7153 addiction is a choice not a disease. The very first time you do a drug is by choice including prescription ones by a doctor that people are too dumb to look up the side effects of. The second time doing a drug might not be a choice but the first time always is. After that it’s just chemical reactions in the brain from the person who was too retarded to not to try the stuff in the first place. No soft ass emotions are not a excuse to to do drugs I’ve had the police called on me because I’ve been suicidal before and I’ve still never resorted to using drugs unless you count none addictive drugs like weed in which case yes I smoke but only after having down countless hours of research on plus I take multi month long breaks of it. Sometimes I will take a 2 month break from weed. As for stuff doctors prescribe people need to stop being too retarded to look up the potential side effects of what their prescribed and do hours of research with that hence why so many people get addicted to stuff their prescribed because they go in without knowing the side effects. Yes doctors push some meds they shouldn’t make that cause people to become addicts again do research before you take those meds.

Can't speak for everyone but when you start drinking real young regularly it becomes "normal". That's the only way to feel right I guess and when everyone around you is mad at the world and you become mad at the world it becomes a way to escape reality. Then if you try to improve any they try to suck you back in like Jonah is kinda trying to do here but worse. It's like why would somebody smoke cigarettes when they know it is killing them? They've probably been doing it since they were 12 and can't function without it. A friend of mine growing up had a dad who went to jail and within less than a week literally died from alcohol withdrawal. It's a horrible way to go too I guess apart from being sick you hallucinate and get paranoid, they said he was screaming about the devil non stop for about 5 or 6 days or so. True alcoholics rarely see 60 and usually die sick and miserable and alone...
