Russia is really a good country with a beautiful culture, it is just since the cold war that United states in ruining everyones vision towards Russia. But it is Russia who has such a long history, such a beautiful language and so much great minds. This war is between Ukraine and Russia, not USA. Why does everyone want to give their opinion and punishments to it. I mean did Russia complain about Americans killing indians? Did Russia ever complain about the manhattan project and Hiroshima? No. Russians are more quiet, they keep their opinion more to themselves and keep them with their own business. The only country on the american continent that would ever have the privilege to say something to Russia is Cuba, who was for years a good friend until the fall of the soviet union. By the way, it is easy forgotten to those americans that The sovjet union gave 23,5 million lives , men and women, were given in the second world war to stop the nazis having control over whole europe. And ok, what some Russian soldiers are doing in Ukraine is not right and is bad. But don’t think that Ukraines soldiers wouldn’t do the same. A soldier is a person who is bored and traumatised. The combination of the two can make every person do such thing. So there is no reason why you shouldn’t love Nonna, Klara and Katyusha because they are Russian. I love them with whole my heart, and so i do with Russia.

This doesn't in any way insult these men, it may be used out of context but the point is only for it to be recognisable with the country the school represents, nothing else. And I wouldn't say people are "attributing" this song to the show. For me, I just applaud the band because they play it really well, not the show.

@@stepgames7698 The schools are racist caricatures that doesn't even resemble their real world counterparts. It's an absolute insult. If you don't want to have to do extra work don't build your franchise over peoples graves. Same problem I had with that last terrible COD WW2 game or the Battlefield game. They don't bother to do the bare minimum and show respect. As for the band. Yes, they are good. I believe this was done in Tokyo, it's good. But! The context for the song when preformed was not, "Oh, we like history let's show some respect by playing these songs. Look we even made a show about these factions." It's, "Wow! GUP is getting its own preference! You should watch! None of the song are ours and we actually don't care about any of the men who died for these wings, and yeah, some of these songs actually make no sense for tank units. But... We're Japanese so we don't care." There not doing it because they got the opportunity their doing it for their brand. When the USAA, USN, USMC band do it it's out of respect and hope for future soldiers. This isn't even just historical, some of these songs are still in use and mean something. So to just take it and slap it on your racist crap is insulting. I mean, come on, the French are a stereotype from almost two TWO centuries before WW2. Dude! What an insult the the brave Frenchmen of WW2 who died due to poor leadership that they couldn't talk out against. It was quite literally the opposite of what happened. If this was parody I wouldn't care or a comedy show. As humor is sacred. But I have never once seen anyone call it as such, always a "Slice of Life Anime," as if that makes it better. No, no it does not. Really I expect this from the Japanese. They don't have respect for the war. When it really pisses me off is when it's done here and people just don't care. Disrespect from the Japanese is expected (However tie that with the fact it is overtaking American culture and I have a bigger problem) but from here? People just don't care. If you want to make a WW2 game or WW1 game, you need to show some respect to the people who died for YOU! Even if they didn't who cares, they gave up everything they ever dreamed and hoped for. Then to turn around and use it like a franchise is insulting. A lot of the earlier COD games did a good job. It doesn't take a lot, just do it right. There are plenty of films that do a fantastic job, you have no excuse to hop out on the bare minimum. (Unless the joke is supposed to be that Japan is racist and they all act like shallow stereotypes. But I'm pretty sure that's not the joke. Though that is absolutely one of the best ideas for a show I've ever heard. I need a show like GUP but you have a real Frenchmen watching everything go down. Bloody hallarous.)

@@culturalliberator9425 Yeah you're probably right. Now that I think about it, I also don't like how it's labeled "Girls und Panzer OST", even though it literally isn't theirs. They do make awesome recordings of the songs, but they associate them with anime girls instead of the men they're originally directed towards. And as you say, since it is overtaking american culture, this may become their new meaning, GUP OST. Which of course is terrible. I'm glad I got to know these songs through gup, that I got to look up their real origins and appreciate them (and play some of them on my trombone). But I would never say that these are good "songs from GUP" ofc. So yes I see where you're coming from. Hey also, what films are you talking about for example? I'd like to start watching some of the better made ones.

@@stepgames7698 This is embarrassing to admit but I actually started singing Battle Hymn of the Republic and dancing around like a fool when I read that. You are the first person who hasn't either just ran away or went, "Eh. I don't really care." It's rather refreshing. As far as I see it these songs are the voices of our ancestors and the soul of their struggle. To treat it like it should be subservient to you is a disgrace, when it should be the other way around. But it sort of reflects GUP well. I mean the French are based off of something that happened a full century before the war even began. Come on, that's not acceptable. Do they really think so little of the French they can just mock their brave dead? France was one of the greatest empires of all time. We best remember that. I'll be honest I have a gripe with GUP but I've oldy sort of came around in a sense. I mean, it's a racist show made by a Japanese company that knows nothing about foreigners, then the racist caricatures in the show are all Japanese (Probably because they knew that'd sell better, not for plot reasons as their in literal air craft carries and can go where they please,), implying that they are not stereotypes but instead racist Japanese girls making a mockery of people they hardly understand... If this was intentional I'd say the show was a brilliant parody and as comedy is sacred I'd leave it be. That, as the idea for a show of done on purpose is brilliant. It's so SO good. But the fact it's done by mistake is also hallarous. As for some films I'd recommend, go with the classics, North By North West, 12 Angry Men (Best film of all time,), The Good The Bad And The Ugly. Those are some of my favorite classics and if somehow you haven't seen them I'd do that right away. The most recent film I've taken off the bucket list is Disney's Davy Crockett which was shockingly good as was the Davy Crockett and the River Bandits which is a rather clever film. The list is loner then that of course. Those are just closer to the top.

@@stepgames7698 Also I must clarify that I don't have a problem with the Japanese making content based on history. It's how it's done that matters. And the execution of GUP from the tanks not acting anything like their real world counterparts to how the factions act and interact with each other. Hardly any of it's based in the real world. The Germans aren't stupid enough to try and Blitzkrieg enemy tanks when they need to play defense. The Americans are... Well, the Japanese do think we're very stupid so that was unavoidable, but still, combined arms doctorine seems to have gone in the way of dementia ally. It's a show that doesn't respect the weapons that men relied on, the things that their entire lives revolved around for days to years at a time. A lot of newer video games have this problem too. It doesn't come from Japan it comes from these young people not seeing WW2 as the time where the world drowned in blood and men risked everything for what they thought was best. No. They see it as a franchise where they can do whatever they want. And it's really sad. So I wouldn't say enjoying something like GUP means you're a bad person. It's very mainstream. And honestly I don't think history should be mainstreamed like this. Because it's just not respectful to the real people who died, it's not a game, 40k sure. It sucks what's happening in the lore, but it's all fake, so it's not something I can gripe about further then, I don't like it now. But this is different. GUP is mainstream Anime at its peak. Low male count, everything is hyper eccentric, lots of spice, things don't really make sense, and caricatures are everywhere. It's catchy. Very catchy. I'm extremely thankful this isn't how I was introduced to the Artillery March or to the Sherman. It would have ruined it for me. But I understand why people like it so much, and I won't reflect it onto them, but that doesn't mean I'll go easy on the show. This is something I really care about. American Culture is dieing, and this? This is like the mockery we get as we die. Remembered as fools an idiots. Disrespected. It shocks me how alone I am.
