Does this set up come like this or is this all custom?

I've been using circle hooks since 1991 when i helped bait hooks in barrels for halibut fishing. We prebaited hooks and put the baits with salt into barrels for when the went out for 24 hour openings commercial fishing. The hooks were monstrous
@Toyotaguy.Ай бұрын
What about the direction you feed the line through the hook? Does that make a difference on the hook rotating in their mouth?
@ronpratt9332Ай бұрын
You are only allowed one rod per person in Manitoba unless you have Treaty status
@FishOnLukeАй бұрын
@ronpratt9332 correct, thankfully we have reasonable laws south of the border

I like em, but I eat sparingly, they get rubbery after a short while off the heat. Nice video.

Drum. So dependable when nothing else bites on a river. They're a little firm but not bad at all!

Dude,.. I own several vintage and unused abu ambassadeur reels but all the bling can be had from the "bay of evil" ,.. Ive blinged out my vintage unused abu black 10000c also a chrome 9000c and tuned with abec 7 hybrid ceramic bearings ,.. it looks sooo choice,.. I dont want to use it ,.. but I will and they will make the 200 yard cast... As long as you clean them after using them in the salt .... these reels will last more than a lifetime! 👍😎🤙

Hey Luke, how do you attach the rode receiver to the go pro? Are you using an adhesive or does it just clip on?
@davestelling2 ай бұрын
Good question! (But...no answer...)
@chrisdaddy46372 ай бұрын
I have to say that being able to use multiple rods is kind of cheating. We can only use 1 up here
@FishOnLuke2 ай бұрын
@chrisdaddy4637 not cheating, line laws change in every state and in MN some rivers you can you 2 as well
@chrisdaddy46372 ай бұрын
@@FishOnLuke we can only use 1 in Canada in the summer. 2 ice fishing rods in the winter. Do you guys have to pinch your barbs?
@chrisdaddy46372 ай бұрын
It’s so crazy that you guys are in the states fishing the same river as we do in Canada. Using the same bait and catching the same fish. Right on!! Great video and happy fishing

I had an 18ft 2016 crestliner 50hp jet but I can't get around very well because of 50 years of coast to coast trucking and the crestliner was a fine boat but worse than getting out of my Corvette as I to was an athlete at 6'5" 350 I had to get a center console with seats I can get out of. I have a 115/80 jet on my 2018 g3 tunnel and I've been in what looked like 5" of water. I love it but haven't used it much because of my health and the first thing I did was put a steering knob on it and the crestliner because the crtliner embarrassed me the way it steered you could not guide that boat at all anything below 6 or 7 mph. The G3 is much better. Good video ha[py motoring brother.

how long does a tank of gas last? i always been a kayak fisherman wanna get a boat this seems like something i like or a 18 footer
@FishOnLuke3 ай бұрын
I get about 4 miles per gallon of gas, 27 gallons, little over 100 miles per tank. The smaller jets are much more efficient.

@ronpratt9332Ай бұрын
Anglers may use only one rod and line, except during ice fishing when two may be used. Only two hooks or lures may be used per line. Manitoba regulations.

They are related to red, black drum,and Atlantic croakers so I’m not surprised they are good eating fish. Not sure why people call them trash fish.
@bssaassin19004 ай бұрын
They're related but taste absolutely nothing like a redfish at least from my experience. Redfish big buttery soft but not mushy flakes😋,freshwater drum springy rubbery and fibrous 🤮

So I’m curious? You nosed up into that little section of whitewater and then didn’t go up?? You certainly have the power and there was sufficient room between rocks to get up and through? That kinda water is what makes jet boats fun. You’re missing out on what jet boats are made for. M. Sehl
@FishOnLuke7 ай бұрын
I don't have uhmw and have ran it before, I'm not missing out on anything, above what you can't see is a giant boulder which is a problem? I run that river 100s of hours a summer and know when and when not I should take the chute
@ErikRaygor-fo5gr7 ай бұрын
Do you see a need for floatation pods on your G3 20ccj? I plan to run skinny water up river and float back down. Trying for maximum buoyancy without dragging bottom. Any thoughts on PODS?
@FishOnLuke7 ай бұрын
If you want to float and not be under power it would surely help keep your back end up a little, on plain, and under power it wouldn't make a difference imo, may even cause porpoise issues, be curious to see someone do pods on a 20ccj though
@mmaxon8887 ай бұрын
Tried one I caught in Lake Manawa, IA, and it was rubbery, nasty. It was fun to catch, though, put up a pretty good fight. Have caught several there and I always let them go... Going to try grilling an asian carp next as soon as the weather is right. I know a side channel off the MO river where they jump a lot, sometimes getting in the boat.

I have had an 18/60 g3 ccj tunnel hull with 90/65 Yamaha since 2005. I had two seat pedestals mounted about 40 inches apart on my back raised deck. I put 5 rod holders on a piece of 2 inch channel iron and put 2 extra holes in it so I can drop 2 pedestals in, set the rack on top and use 3/4 inch implement pins to pin the bar to the pedestals. All comes apart when you don't want it there.
