A fine new c-7 library! Gives an intimate and resonant yamaha sound, not too pristine and not worn either. The ablilty to switch beween tuned and slightly detuned (bloom) is very nice., as is the sonic combination of the very high quality convulsion reverbs, personal favorite is the ksp8 small wood booth. In (short) comparison with modern U (yamaha upright u3 and my go-to-piano), the rosewood - obviously - has fuller bass and is somewhat more snappier. Both have a lot of character and complement each other. Last but not least, the developer Greg Schlaepfer deserves a mention for being such a nice and considerate guy. Highly recommended.

It's awesome that Rosewood Grand got revisited, it's always been an unexpected but great hidden little gem for me, and seeing it get more love with some more variations is just so nice. Can't wait to try to out the felt set soon. I'm also really thankful that the original sample set is included as well in this upgrade, I don't know what it is exactly but it's so amazingly well recorded ♥Cheers!

Is this a rerelease with new engine and or also new samples? Or is it brand new piano samples plus the old recordings under 'clasdic" mode?
@guyrandle788910 күн бұрын
Rosewood Grand includes four distinct sample sets to choose between: Tuned: The main version, delivering the polished, pure tone of the C7 grand piano. Bloom: The piano’s unisons were subtly detuned, introducing more motion in each note’s sustain. Felt: A layer of felt was positioned between hammers and strings, softening the piano’s attack and giving it a warm, bell-like sustain. Classic: Access the sound of the original Rosewood Grand library, updated with the new engine’s capabilities.

This is the best-sampled guitar! There’s only one drawback - it lacks the noise from the strings and frets when bending/vibrato. I mean, the up/down or down/up (vibrato, bends) doesn’t sound realistic; it’s too clean, without any noise, which makes it feel unnatural compared to how a real guitarist would play vibrato on the fretboard. How can I simulate such noise and add it to the sample? Or is it impossible? It would be great if you could release a free update to integrate it into the Kontakt script. Thank you!

so, overlapping notes will create slides?
@ButteCreekBanjo3 ай бұрын
This is not quite accurate. Bluegrass, known as Scrugg style, is highly melodic and relies on repetition of rolls and pinches. The pinches effectively replaced the strumming with the back of the fingers when frailing overhand or "clawhammer" as you refer to it. Unfortunately this video is a product of synthesized computer models trying to simulate a style of play that is extremely nuanced and complex. It is not obvious to me what you're trying to accomplish or communicate with this video.
@OrangeTreeSamples2 ай бұрын
The purpose of this video is to demonstrate two of our banjo virtual instruments. It isn't intended to be an exhaustive explanation of clawhammer and Scruggs styles, but merely provide a working understanding for the non-banjo players who might be considering which of our virtual banjo products will best suit their needs. By providing examples to listen to, the intention is that they can get a better idea of how these playing approaches differ tonally, not to mention hearing how different the open-back banjo sounds compared to a resonator banjo. By the way, I checked out your KZbin channel and really enjoyed listening to your playing! Keep up the great work!

Question. When strumming the strings with the mouse across the GUI, does that result in MIDI notes in the DAW that can be edited?
@OrangeTreeSamples3 ай бұрын
In Kontakt's options, if you go to the "Engine" tab and enable the "script generated notes" option in the "Send MIDI to outside world" menu, then yes, you can record the strums via your mouse on the GUI. The caveat is that it looks like the velocities of the notes end up being really low, so you'll need to scale those back up in your piano roll afterward.
@ShiningHourPop3 ай бұрын
@@OrangeTreeSamples I've tried this in Logic but nothing records using the mouse. All is ok with a keyboard though. Any ideas? Thanks
@OrangeTreeSamples3 ай бұрын
@@ShiningHourPop It looks like Logic doesn't have the capability to record MIDI outputted from instrument plugins yet. However, I was able to get it working by loading Americana Autoharp in the standalone Kontakt application and turning on Kontakt's virtual MIDI input/output (and enabling the "script generated notes" option in the "Send MIDI to outside world" setting). That way I could record strumming on the GUI from the standalone Kontakt application into Logic where Kontakt was also loaded as an instrument plugin. Not as convenient as being able to do it purely within Logic, but hopefully that's helpful!

@@markdavenport2613 I get what you mean - it is quite a 'pure' rendition. It does respond well to amp sims, but perhaps by 'gritty' you're meaning something with more artifacts like fret buzz and those 'swooshy' noises that happen when you're using the bottleneck to do vibrato?
