Ernest used to come to the El Rancho in Sacramento once a year. My father never missed a show. Lol. He made me .isten to him from Sacramento to Tampa and back or where ever we where headed racing. I didn't appreciate it back in the 70's. But in 2025 it brings smile to my face and happy memories. Miss you dad.

When they first came out, we all thought that CCR was from Louisiana or somewhere down there, but turned out they were really from El Cerrito, CA. Combine that with all of the great songs and albums that they put out, and I think you could make a good case for called CCR "America's Band". No offense meant to Aerosmith or Chicago, of course.

My cousin Marie sung this at New Year parties in the 70's and 80's. I learned it from my mum who attended those parties. I wasn't even born. 😅

Lefty lovers: My favorite contemporary country artist, Cody Jinks, has recently put out an album full of Lefty's songs ("Cody Jinks Sings Lefty Frizzell"). Cody is one of a few modern country artists who has not sold out and retains that old country sound. He has a full catalog of music that should be checked out if you're a fan of classic or outlaw country.
