These old Johnny Cash Songs are quite good. Too bad that few seem to know them or hear them being played again

A rudimentary analysis of this song's story The main character of the story is a religious bank robber that managed to hide his spoils with an unknown accomplice. He managed to escape jail and walks the desert, trying to find where he hid the money. He remembers that he hid it near a "big water hole". But this turns out to be his mind telling him what he wants to hear, because the water hole is dry. He rationalizes this as "the devil drinking all the water holes dry". He also didn't even hide the money there, which he also rationalizes as the devil's interference. He then runs around in circles, trying to find his money, until he dies of dehydration.
