Cool VID! - I'll get into jumping an efoil as soon as you can figure out how to make the landing look as cool as the launch. :P I've yet to see anyone pull off a truly smooth landing.
@KV-lj6elАй бұрын
I think you are looking for excuse. It is scary. I have done cool landings, landing and keeping foiling without allowing the board to touch the water, you have to find the proper power balance. It is very tricky I can do it maybe 1-2 times on 50 landings.
@VerdantRideАй бұрын
@@KV-lj6el I think I said what I meant and I meant what I said. One of the best things about being someone with integrity is that you don't need to waste time coming up with excuses… The landings look clunky and awkward the vast majority of the time when anyone jumps an efoil. If every time I pulled a heli skiing I looked as decombobulated on the landing I probably wouldn't do them very often either. So my jumps will largely be utilized only for avoiding stumps as a last ditch effort emergency maneuver. Again, you figure out how to make the landing look as cool as the launch, and I'd be down to check that technique out.
@_JustinChait_Ай бұрын
@@VerdantRide take a look at the Ollie at 1:33. Landing was almost splashless. The faster you go and the quicker the dip the better the landings will be. Even in the wake and surf foil airs you’ll see clunky splash landings. The nature of the machine. What you don’t see or feel is the height and the hang time you feel. With straps you can Ollie nearly 10ft in the air (board height). There are guys in Dubai who are launching 10ft up and gapping at least 30ft or so They are sending 20-25mph. Unreal to see in person. Non powered foils are starting to do flat water and wave freestyle. Something I’m very excited to get into with the new carbon Efoils from Flite combined with straps and a nano battery. Going from a 50lb set up to a 39lb set up and a much lighter mast.
@_JustinChait_Ай бұрын
Flips spins grabs in any combination are totally doable on an eFoil. All require a solid Ollie
@VerdantRideАй бұрын
@@_JustinChait_ I'm never gonna do or endorse straps on a board as heavy as an eFoil until somebody invents a flawless release mechanism. We gotta be realistic about the differences between an eFoil and a wakeboard and the potential and severity of injuries. I predict that eFoil tricks are gonna remain a very niche interest until the form factor gets closer to that of a wakeboard which may or may not even be possible given the mast, the wing, the prop, the battery, etc. This is just my opinion, and I could be wrong, but I'm probably right. Heck, eFoiling itself is turning out to be a niche interest even without the tricks.

Glad this works for you but moving foot position is a great way to destabilize the board. It won’t work in heavy chop. I can get the same, or greater, bank angles without moving my feet.
@_JustinChait_Ай бұрын
@@Fluterra it 100% works in chop and big wave conditions. It works in all conditions. This video is a basic foundation of the movement. I invite you to check out more of my videos and compare your riding. If you’re hitting deeper carves please share. Would love to see it and learn from you. The reason for the back step is to increase the pitch more than the rider could do just by shifting weight back or adding throttle. There’s only 2 ways to increase or decrease pitch. Weight shift and throttle. Stepping back shifts the weight without needing to much foot pressure. If you’re not stable when stepping back and forth, more than likely your body posture is off causing you to lose balance. Most likely the chest dips and your knees tend to not bend causing imbalance. Hope this helps explain the technique. Please tag me in your videos. Would love to see those carves 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
