Such a phenomenal story-however let me add that if everyone in his childhood would have supported him 100% by saying oh yeah for sure you are going to play football at Notre Dame…would he have?? I doubt it. I think in fact the lack of support is what motivated him to actually triumph. Let this be a lesson kids-your dream is your dream, and it is ultimately up to you. Go after it! Don’t ever let someone else’s comments or criticism stand between you and your goals. Stay in the driver’s seat

My wife and I saw Rudy when it first came out. There were about 30-40 students from Joliet Catholic in the front three rows. When Rudy came out of the tunnel and then got in the game, they were on their feet cheering. I'll never forget that. It was almost like being there.

The casting was perfection. Everything worked in this movie. It is very inspiring, but not the best reality for a kid...he spent his whole life to play less than 30 seconds of a game...but it was his dream.

One of the biggest fallacies of this movie is that the players supported Rudy, and the coaches had to be persuaded to play him. The truth was that the coaches supported Rudy and the players resented him.

I just read Rudy was recently baptized into the Mormon church. Raised catholic, Mormon convert. That's jumping out of the frying pan into the fire. I met Rudy, he’s a dick in real life. If you want to watch a really good football movie, directed by the same guy, watch My All American. Not saying Rudy’s story isn’t awesome and that his accomplishments weren’t awesome, but they don’t measure up.

Imagine if Rudy dreamt or worked to get to the NFL level or win MVP. Yes! He was short but 5 foot 3 Mugsy Played in the NBA, don't forget. No one is taking anything away from Rudy but we should always aim for the greatest price, this will make us work harder and be more disciplined. Just a thought I had while watching this movie.
