So let’s say you drew 3 basics. Mew in active, golett and Ralts on the bench. You got lucky, and got both evos for ralts and golurk. Mew takes dmg 2 turns, Turn 3 you use gardivour to attach an extra energy to golurk after budding expedition mew out. Attach the 4th energy and it’s online with full health. This would be the ideal way to use it

I didn't know this game existed until I saw this video. Been playing a few days now. Pretty fun and seems playable for free.

The first deck i ever made includes golurk as a primary card. I call it "triple G" because its gardevoir, golurk, and gengar. The new sigilyph and slab cards enhanced it too. I have a strong opinion that any card can be useful in some way either now or in the future, but imma be honest that rhydon looks hopeless lol

I once had a Golurk deck. I ended up putting one Golett out and evolved it only to build up on another one - it was the only way to win. It was solo and I didn't have many Psychic types and I got rid of it later on. Rhyperior is probably the only thing that'll make Ryhdon good, when it comes out. It's the only card worst than Golurk right now, though.

Golett/Golurk I find as slightly better than given credit here, mainly because of the NOEX format. Being a stronger version of Marowak with good HP can be very dangerous if given the ability to byild up, so low energy supports and disruption tools like Mew/Red Card and tanks like Khang to setup for no cost allow you to get him online safely giving a key advantage state in an otherwise losing battle.

I have seen people use gardevoir to charge him and hypno to make the other pokemon sleep but when you have to do all that setup to get 0, 0 , 0.

I actually like Golurk as copy 3 of Mewtwo EX. Obviously, it's much weaker than the actual card that deck is built around, but it actually hits the synergy nicely. I also think you stumbled upon one of the great reasons to lead with it on accident: to let it die. In Pokemone TCGP, EX gives two prizes compared to the one of regulars. This means that if you send out your pokemon in the order of reg, reg, EX you'll never run into the drawback of using an EX. This allows you to send out the bulky golett (maybe even evolve into the bulkier golurk) while you set up your bench (the actual stars of the deck). As you mentioned, it takes some time to set up Gardevoir, so this is actually quite helpful. Alternatively, if you lead Mewtwo EX and it gets KO'd, a set up Bench with Golurk can come in to clean up (Has OHKO potential on literally anything). The strict energy requirements are mitigated by using Gardevoir, and can by entirely bypassed should you reach a bench of 2 Gardevoir (which isn't actually unreasonable, Prof Oak+Pokeball+Slab gets you through the deck lightning fast). All in all, the meta creating a deck that this card slots into nicely to punch WAY above it's vacuum weight class makes Golett/Golurk much better than this video's analysis would have you believe.
