Your game is still running beyond 10 fps. You need to get sponsered by nVidia so you can be pushed to make your game only playable on a 4090 with frame gen

4:28 the reason why Right - Left is the norm comes from how we generally read books, comics, magazines, etc. We learn this in film school where if we want to illustrate something that's meant to "upset" or "bug" a watcher, we would flip the style and go from Left - Right. This sort of gives an uneasy feeling as most of the time, throughout your daily life, you're generallying doing things from left - right.

Nice video you Golden God! I have just been asking my community what type of videos I should be making to basically start growing my channel a little and one of the things they said, was to make devlogs. I find that mostly very daunting as it will take a ton of time to make even one video most likely. But let's see, maybe I actually will give it a go.

I swear there were video devlogs of this wasn't there? Were they taken down or am I remembering wrong?

2:45 - Well, yes... and no. You can do that, but then you're left with an empty world, you can still feel during racing. You might get away with that with sim-racers, but with arcade racers, people generally expect more from the environment they're driving in. Especially if that environment is part of the gameplay. When I started testing the waters with my game development of a racing game, I also thought it was just plumping down some cars on a track, which could be filled with some simple assets. But in this day and age, that just doesn't look exciting. For arcade racers, the environment needs to be alive. And that takes time and effort aswell. And the flow of the track needs to fun and exciting too. Also to make sure different types of cars can run through those tracks while still keeping things fun, but challenging aswell. It's just as with fighing games. Sure it looks easy: create a backdrop, plump in 2 or more fighters and you've got yourself a fighting game. But what isn't seen, is all the balancing that runs behind it, Where fighting games have (fluid) animations to worry about, car-games, even arcade, have physics to worry about. This last point is a real struggle aswell. - Like you said further in your video aswell. So maybe it was just as an intro that you said that?

Hey, just letting you know, the achievements aren't working for me. I just replayed ReIterate to the end recently, and also finally took a stab at playing Black Edition and beat that too (was a lot of fun, other than maybe 2 or 3 levels that just felt like the only working option was throwing myself at them over and over until I randomly beat them by chance, but otherwise it was very enjoyable as a hard challenge). I also went and did a run of Speedrun mode (got under 16 minutes, playing Black Edition definitely helped make the normal game a lot smoother and easier lol), and I have all the devlog collectable things. So in short, I've done all the achievement tasks, and yet I haven't earned a single achievement, so something's not working right there. Very enjoyable game that I don't regret buying, but just letting you know about this issue I had.

The Big swinging spike club stuff... does not seem to deal dmg to you. 4:57 - 4:59 the last 2 there just before exit... if you set speed to 0,25.. you can see that you are passing through the big spike club thingy, and nothing happens. Smaller hit box than intended ???.

I think there are two more "types" one is a hybrid of the two, technical and design, so you balance out your "why's" with the hows, and then the forth type would be the Dani-style be crazy, and don't worry about communicating anything to the viewer. I'm not going to be doing mine exclusively for gamedevs. I want to make this for people who like behind the scenes and making of material.

Dani succeeded because he knows Gen Z humor, meme culture, how to integrate all that into a well made video, and how to create games that are appealing to wide audiences very well. He has a dedicated fanbase because of his humor and memes like milk vs orange juice, Karlson, wow that was really cool, etc.

I would also appreciate it if you made my game able to pre order on steam, playstation and xbox. if you want money i will pay you when we start raking in money from the game. Thanks!

There's so much you could do to this. Make jump a random letter of the alphabet. Randomly chosen from the alphabet each time you press a key. Create a bunch of different commands that don't do anything, or don't do anything useful -- including a suicide command -- that are also bound to a random key each time you press something. Make the jump key cause the player to propel himself directly at the final boss to take massive damage to the point of being like another suicide key. Make the final boss immune to the first projectile you get so you have to accidentally stumble upon a complex upgrade system you don't even know exists without killing yourself to upgrade your bullets to the type the boss isn't immune to. Make special spikes that look exactly like the spikes that will kill you which are key spikes that you need to collide with to unlock the end of the level. Or you could make QWOP.

Im an artist (and i like to think I'm a pretty good one, especially in regards to lines and color) and you did a phenomenal job! Literally anyone can do art. It doesnt have to be fancy or hyper realistic to be visually appealing and you absolutely nailed the look and feel of your game. Side note: most artists cant draw a straight line including myself. Thats why we use rulers and compasses to make circles. I use digital stabilizing tools and filters and gradients to make my art better. Technology exists for a reason and there's no shame and no loss of creativity in using it to bring your vision to life. If you find anyone saying they cant do art because they can't draw a straight line, please smack them for me ^-^
