This car needs everything. I hope it gets restored. Most of the time people run out of ambition and money or run into health or family problems and the car doesn't get finished. There are hundreds of projects laying around half finished. People don't realize what it takes to completely restore a older car.
@EvanLudes6 күн бұрын
Yeah, it's a huge undertaking. I've got one of those projects sitting in my garage right now. Luckily Sean has the know-how and ambition to see this thing through. It'll come together faster than most! Especially if I keep bugging him to film updates 😏

First off congrats on buying the greatest muscle car ever IMHO. Second you got more work than you’ll ever know to do that car right😂 Third it’ll be worth it! I’ve wanted one since I was 17,I’m 54 now and still don’t have one. Almost bought a full resto years ago for 52K,how I wish I snagged that one. Best of luck on the build,walk away and take a break when it gets to be too much. Even with skills these things can break the bank. Enjoy it

Oh my goodness, I did this very thing once back in 2005... I had a 1969 charger pulled from a farmer's field after who knows how long it needed everything and by the time I was done I think I spent something between 60 and 70,000... Granted it was very nice when it was done but I sold it too early and only got 45,000... If I held on to it long enough obviously it would be worth 80 or 90,000 today... That I have this horrible reputation of bailing out on finished projects before the value comes back.

Hindsight is always 20/20! At least you have the memories and experience of such a cool project. Just be sure to tell us what you're about to bail on next time, so we can know what's about to double in value 😂 Working on anything new these days?

@jackierabbit45010 күн бұрын
@@EvanLudes yes the scout is about to become the next bronco I think! I remember my neighbor when I was a kid had a copper colored scout and we used to love hopping in that thing and bouncing around all over the place... I remember he used to take that scout hunting along with his two Brittany spaniels. As 5-year-olds we just like getting in the back and giggling when it bounced around over ruts and bumps... The sad thing is I do actually still have a shop, and I could do all of the work myself, my dad is there and would help me anytime I want, but I'm working so much at three different businesses that I've started that my time is so limited I have no time to do anything for myself these days. But I figure as long as I'm making good money at my medical practices I could just pay somebody to do what I want that way they earn a good living and I get the thing I wanted without having to break my fingernails in the process... That and I just feel like I'm getting too old for crawling around under cars.

The way I’ve gone about doing these major restorations is to not look at all the work that needs to be done, just focus on a certain area of the car, say the trunk or engine bay, front chassis and finish one of those and move on to the next, hopefully this will help and good luck with your project!

I am old enough to remember when the 2nd Gen Charger first came out. The first time I ever saw one was in 1968. I was standing at a cross walk with my Schwinn Stingray when somebody pulled up to the stop sign with a brand new Dodge Charger straight off the lot. I knew right then that car would be the best looking car ever made in U.S.A history. In the late 70's and early 80"s I made three attempts to buy a 2nd Gen Charger, but they all fell through. Back then you could buy a complete running 2nd Gen Charger for less that $1000.
