uhm, minor detail, penn wrote his name on the top of the card, not in the middle, the card that he got out from his trick, was Penn names in bigg letters in the middle....

Oh I figured it out. Shawn's head is up his own ass with joy and happiness (Canadian), and Allison has a nice one so when theirs touch, they link up like some kind of fleshy R2-D2 probing a wall socket and he can see what she sees.

At 3:14 you can see that he clearly has lenses on his glasses, by the way they reflect the lighting. They must allow him to see what's printed on the pages, and it's not visible to the naked eye. By the end he removes the lenses, but the glasses are key.

So the trick I’m presuming uses some form of a polarised print and his spectacles. Because the glasses do have lenses until he switches them before he turns to address Alyson. Then he points out that they don’t have lenses as a nice little misdirect. And it’s kinda genius because it masks the accusation of a book switch, when in actuality the switch is on his face. Veddddy noice trick!

I imagine there is a glasses switch, and the book is printed in a way that only a special lens can see it, polarization for example

Yeah that trick is easy with more than 1 book. He just needs to memorize the largest word on each page for the final reveal. No wonder that was not the trick, far too trivial. That book which he shows only has to look blank. There was no close examination other than by the self professed "easy target" so it could have been written white on white and he just slit a polarized piece of film over the page. Not even the entire page has to be noted as Alison had no control over what information was divulged. Shawn just rambled impressively.

Probably my favourite performance of a card trick I’ve ever seen. The dynamic is so brilliantly performed by both Shawn and Penn. This is the trick I show people to explain why magic is still amazing even when you know it’s a trick Penns reaction is all it takes

The trick is done by special ink that u can see with special glasses Shawn removed the plastic glasses at the end when he showed there is no glass he actually pushed them out so they are lost and now the glasses have no glass so pen and teller cant find out about his little cheat 😂

If I had to guess, after seeing the description and watching multiple times, It would be tiny letters near the spine of the book. When he flips through it later, you could pinch the spine to only show the outer parts of the page and hide the inner text.

Love this trick a ton. The first time around was mind boggling for Shawn on Fool us, but this had utterly fantastic misdirection that caught penn and teller so hard.
