That is very cool. You turned it into a caddy. I just got a black one for the service cart. Also, that's a great trick with the hinge.

I appreciated this a lot! Just got a “garage kept” 08’ 650 Versys. I’ve not worked on bikes before as it is my first one but I’ve got a lot of work before I can get rid of the very faded red all over it 😂

The key to removing those original plugs is to first use a plastic pry tool to pry up the edge only, lightly, then right away take a needle nose plyer and grab the lip and pull the plug directly downward. They pop right out. If you pull them off to the side they break. Downward though, they pop out perfectly.

Could you put a link where you got the handguards and the tankcap? Love the result!

Those are from AliExpress I’m not sure if I can put a link in the comments but if you type in at the search bar at AliExpress “Motocross Handbar Handguard Protector Protection For Motorcycle Dirt Pit Bike ATV Quads with 22mm Hand Guards enduro” you will find them. The gas cap is just an OEM replacement

@christopherrobinson4373 looks so dumb. Are you Valentino Rossi? Do you see any other bikes with frame sliders? Even 1000 CC inline 4s? I mean if you want 4 inch sticks coming out each side of your bike that says "I'm pretty sure I'm gonna crash", by all means. It's just me lmao. Do you.

Tbh, many people hate the Gladius, but.... outside of perhaps the headlight I think it's a very good looking bike. I might prefer the latest SV650 sliiiiightly over it, but honestly I don't see how people dogged on this bike when it came out... It's sleek, slightly curvy and stylish. And I'll be honest: this one in particular looks really good to me.

What did you do with the Trans Cooler lines? Pinch them off? Cap them? If you didn't, how much trans fluid did you lose after you removed them?

Nice detail given the instructions come with no descriptive wording, only drawings. I could not find any information about the alignment pins anywhere else. A couple notes: I was able to remove the grommets from the door frame with my fingers - no tool required. They are somewhat flexible so once you pry one side up, keep pushing until it releases. The other note is that the orientation of the slot the key goes in needs to be such that the key goes in from the bottom. If the slot is upside down, you reach a point where you can no longer insert the key to tighten or loosen the rack. I think my rack had all mounting ends fully released allowing that piece on one mounting leg to rotate.

PRO TIP: they sell plastic clamps at Harbor Freight and online that are specifically for clamping down line with fluid. They are basically like vise grips, except they fully are plastic (so they are less likely to tear rubber hoses) and the jaws are flat to fully seal the hose together when you ratchet them tight. I use a couple of these when changing out cooling or fueling components and usually don't lose hardly any fluid
