she should have just informed the control tower that this is her first time trying to land a busy airport and have no experience about it rather than pretending to understand everything and acting very calm that everything is fine and still under her control. They would have help her in the best possible way and safe procedure that she will land the plane safely. She was acting very calm and acting that she is still under control when in reality she's not.

I don't think this was a full-grown adult whale. More like a teenager, as I doubt adult whales would've gone to the humans for help.

She shouldn't have been in a class B airspace with such little experience and ATC made a couple of mistakes from what I read like telling her to turn to a 30 degrees heading when he really meant turn 30 degrees. It didn't cause the crash, but it added to her work load and she kept making mistakes.

Had I been there I would have jumped at the chance to identify what the whale was trying to tell me.I don't speak French, but maybe he understood Italian.... Just kidding. But yes, I would have dived in faster than jumping Jack Flash cause the usual problem is fishing line, but fish hooks do figure in the equation as well. Can't stand to see any animal hurting and in distress. Thumbs UP for removing that painful hook. I commend this man wholeheartedly ! 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

Damn, that little hook is like a wood splinter in the mouth, or shall I say, a STEEL splinter in the lips. So, this whale not only spoke "WHALISH" but got by in French too ! A bilingual whale... Glad that diver was there to help. All that plastic garbage and whatever else crap is floating in the Pacific really needs to be cleaned up.😡 Who's in charge of THAT ????😡😠😠😨😲 SOMEBODY needs to pull up his Man pants" and get the job done. The marine life didn't put it there, HUMANOIDS did.👿👿😈

What amazes me is that it understands that this creature that’s not built for the water has the ability to help it. Now that I think of it, that whale knew to a large extent what the problem was….something stuck in my mouth and how he/she might fix it. That’s creative problem solving….

To me I find it so amazing that these creatures have the intelligence to know go come to humans for help. These animals need to be protected. I know some people will argue the fact that that is a prejudice way of thinking to protect an animal because it is intelligent. But you have to draw a line somewhere or else nothing will be right or wrong. 😊

Whales are too smart. When i think about issues today that to future generations will seem as appalling as slavery does to us now, animal rights is always top of my list. More specifically, the way we treat other intelligent life on the planet will be seen insane as we learn more about our own brains and those of other animals. It seems like there is a chance (significantly more than non-zero) that there are animals on this planet "smarter" than us in many ways. If whales' emotional intelligence is higher than ours this means their emotional experiences are deeper than ours, which must be followed by the understanding their suffering is at least as important as humans' (if not more).
