You tell people to put the seats and springs back in the same order that they were removed but you do not mention which way the tapered spring inserts. Since a previous install might have been done incorrectly you should have been specific about which way the taper goes.

I have a 30 year old heater that has had zero maintenance. How do I know when it's time to replace?
@AmreSupply
@AmreSupply 3 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching. This can depend on the hardness of the water. Some people find that regular maintenance helps and others have gone decades without touching their water heater. If you try to access the anode rod at this point, the threads will likely be stuck and quite difficult to unscrew. You can always check the anode and replace it if necessary. Depending on how much is left, that will help you know when you should install a new one.

i have removed the defroster element and plugged it directly to the wall, it is heating up and does not trip the circuit breaker. But when i plug it back to the fridge its trip the circuit breaker. What might be the issue?
@AmreSupply
@AmreSupply 3 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching. If the breaker trips then it means there is too much current flowing for that breaker. If your refrigerator is tripping the breaker then there could be a short circuit somewhere.

Sir after completing refilling the water heater tank , should i'll leave open the valve for cold water supply? Or shut the water supply inlet valve off once filling is complete?
@AmreSupply
@AmreSupply 3 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching. The cold water valve is left open so that the tank is able to refill after hot water is used. Without a steady stream of new water, the water heater will not work properly and will run out of hot water.

Why it is not dangerous to backflush? Because the open faucet will outlet the pressure?
@AmreSupply
@AmreSupply 3 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching. With the water shut off, PSI of the drain valve is based on the weight of the water above it and gravity which is generally around 2 - 5 PSI. The pressure of a faucet is generally above 30 PSI.

Hello, My Kenmore oven heater stopped heating on baking mode, but works on broil mode, please if you could tell me what could possible be the reason? Thank you 🙏
@AmreSupply
@AmreSupply 6 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching. When preheating on bake, an oven generally will use both elements to heat up and then once it's maintaining heat it will use 80% from bake and 20% of the heat from the broil element. You could test the bake to see if it has continuity. If the bake element is good but it still doesn't work, then it's likely a failed bake relay on the control board (preventing power from being sent to the bake element).

Thank you for your excellent videos. I want to share a few things that I -- a petite total amateur -- learned replacing two diaphragm modules. 1) Removing the diaphragm cap may require more torque than channel locks or a small wrench can provide, especially if there is some corrosion involved. I had to buy a heavy-duty 15 inch wrench. 2) It turns out I have one low-flow flushometer and one regular. I have no idea how to spot this from the writing on the unit. Once I accessed the diaphragm of my master suite unit, I saw it had a green top. Since I had purchased a standard 3.5 GPM kit, I installed it, but it leaked terribly at the vacuum breaker and ended up destroying the vacuum breaker. Incidentally, if you are also replacing the vacuum breaker and are using a green diaphragm, you need a breaker that is 651, not 551. With the green diaphragm and the proper breaker, my master suite toilet now works perfectly. The older toilet in my guest suite used the standard diaphragm and vacuum breaker. Incidentally, I also replaced the handles while I was at it. They work much better now -- they clearly were on their last legs. (And yes, both of my upstairs toilets broke within hours of each other on a Saturday. I'm a new owner, and there is some deferred maintenance here. I learned a lot fixing these and will be ready for next time. Thank you for saving my weekend!)

What if I have 9 ohms? All other safety’s have continuity but no heat
@AmreSupply
@AmreSupply 6 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching. Generally a dryer heating element should be between 20 and 50 ohms so that is a little on the low side which could mean it's faulty. You can calculate the ohms of your particular element if you know the wattage and voltage (220v) : www.rapidtables.com/calc/electric/ohms-law-calculator.html

In the diagram, around 38 seconds, isn't there a direct short when line voltage in the defrost control ties directly to the neutral. Got it! That has to be the motor circuit.
@AmreSupply
@AmreSupply 9 күн бұрын
Yes what is not shown there is the small motor and capacitor that runs the defrost timer. We tried to keep things clean and simple for the large diagram but it would have been best to show an additional symbol there.

@@AmreSupply Thanks. Your diagram was so clear. I just wired a wifi thermostat to an old refrigerator and modified the downdraft holes to make a deep freezer out of it. I did not realize the thermostat controlled (turned off) the whole defrost cycle. I thought the timer circuit would be primary line. I just finished it an hour ago. Thanks again.
@AmreSupply
@AmreSupply 9 күн бұрын
@@trupinion512 You're welcome, we're glad you found it helpful. There is another configuration that is less common. In some models the defrost timer is first and the cold control is second. In either case the defrost will run after 8 hours of compressor run time.

Hi My wife does alot of baking and our Electric GE stove keeps shutting off randomly when she is baking in the oven but it always comes back on and is otherwise working fine. Would a thermal fuse act in this manner or is it most likely a control board or something else? Thank you
@AmreSupply
@AmreSupply 6 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching. Perhaps not a thermal fuse but more likely a bimetal high limit thermostat. In some cases the metal can wear down and fatigue over time causing it to trip at lower temperatures. Not all models have these though. If your model doesn't have a fuse or high limit switch then it could be a faulty temp sensor: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJ_XkKCLrMl_btE

I have an old Caloric Ultramatic and after using the clean cycle it won't bake or broil it will only heat in clean mode. Could it still be a thermal fuse since it is still heating in the clean cycle? Thank you
@AmreSupply
@AmreSupply 6 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching. If it tripped the thermal fuse then it would prevent it from heating in bake, broil or self clean. In this cases this looks like an issue with the control board but first try a reset as it might be stuck in a cleaning mode.. This might sound too simple but try unplugging the unit for 5 minutes. See if that helps.

thanks for useful inf , sir what would be happened if i bypass the thermistor either for safety aspect or cooling efficiency?
@AmreSupply
@AmreSupply 6 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching. The defrost likely will not run without a thermistor. A thermistor is heat sensitive resistor. If the control board detects that the resistance is not right, then it will shut off. If there is no resistance then it will also prevent it from running correctly.
