0:40 How do you know the heater warms up? I used a screwdriver to force defrost mode, and everything seems to shut off, but I don't know if the heater is working to melt any potential frost.

You will most likely remove back panel in freezer and look at evaporator, if the heater kicks in, you will see frost melting away.

This is fine for a top freezer. What about an LG French Door with bottom freezer?

Thanks for watching. It's likely that your model has a control board and will not have a mechanical defrost timer so you won't be able to follow these steps. Check the manual, in some cases there's a combination of buttons that can be pressed to enter a defrost mode. This will be specific to each control board / model.

Thanks again for watching! If the compressor keeps running then you'll want to check a few things. Make sure that nothing is interfering with the heat transfer.
