That's good info. I think I'd garage store it when I'm not using it, depends how much effort that is. I'd only be camping 2-3 times a year. #5 was in my head, glad you brought that up.

4:45 They're better than they used to be. I have 191,000 on my twin turbo F150 right now and it's still going strong, no issues at all with the turbos. Pulls hard and makes that fun turbo whistle sound everyone loves. (I want to buy an Outback Wilderness in a few years though). Anyway, your rig turned out really nice and it's great that you got to work with your dad on it.

This was in early May, our main concern was bugs so that’s why we went early… it definitely paid off even though the leaves weren’t on the trees yet

I live here and see a lot of adventure rigs. My ask is that everyone SLOW down and enjoy the ride. As a member of EMS I have seen my share of accidents from simply going to fast on Loop rd. Additionally, there are hikers, skiers & bikers that use the road so heed with caution friends and tread lightly. 👍

I am 75 years old and I have had a bunch of 4X4s including two FJs. It handles better than any 4X4 I have ever had. What do you want? A perfect 4x4 does not exist! My biggest complaint is the blind spots! Did you know the FJ was meant to be the Japanese Hummer? They are way better and way cheaper. They out perform the Hummer in every category! They are great dog vehicles!

Dude wow what a freaking film you just made. I watch a lot of outdoor creators and you are by far one of the best I’ve seen (if not the best). You do an amazing job at capturing the beauty of things and narrating, you really reach through the screen and grab your viewers attention. Keep this up and it will all pay off I promise. You’ve earned a huge fan today man

Thanks mate, this content took me straight back to touring trips with my Dad in a 70's series Cruiser through Tassie & the Southern Coast of WA here home in Australia. Spending time with the old man out bush admiring nature in your own backyard is memories that you'll cherish forever. God bless you both, hope you enjoy many more father / son trips together. I envy what you have, I'd give anything to have just one more trip with my Dad exploring the wilds of Australia. Love the content, brilliantly narrated and shot

They say there is blind spots that is 🐂💩 people need to learn how to drive you are supposed to look behind you when you back up and you are supposed to look on the side of you when you turn I can see fine I don't know of these blind spots you mentioned because I don't have any problems I love my f j cruiser I can see fine behind me and on the side of me so maybe these people need to go back to driving school and learn how to properly drive your car

EcoFlow 800W Alternator Charger
@CineCruiser-DUnknownАй бұрын
Nice! The best thing about putting it in the car, is you can do Lithium setups without cooking your battery in the engine bay.
@CrippleCreekStudiosАй бұрын
Question: Did you change anything about your alternator? Is it the original OEM, or did you upgrade? I’m interested in either system like yours, or using a DC to DC charger to power up a power station like a Bluetti. I’m not entirely, sure, but I’ve read some info that it can prematurely wear out the alternator due to the OEM not having much extra output. Thanks for the overview of your system!

Yes yes yes yes yes yes I totally thought I was the only one that didn't like these things. I didn't have a rooftop tent but I how to pop up truck bed camper so pretty much the same thing. I hated having to put it down to go to the General Store in the campground and then drive back to my campsite and put it back up. A couple times I said f*** it and just drove a real slow with it up and that wobbling all over the place:-)
@boundless-trailsАй бұрын
If you think about it, you’re just spending a night in it. That’s all. You can sleep in the car, you can sleep in a ground tent as well, and both of those options could be just as comfortable if you have the right gear. Yes, you can be warm in a ground tent and yes, you can also make room in your car and sleep there, if you absolutely have to. I looked up the cost of these things and with roof rack system, it can go up to 4-5K. I mean, is it really worth the investment?

None of these issues matter to me and gas prices in Europe are significantly higher than i the US. I have 2 kids, the "suicide doors" are the best protection for getting out of the car in the safest mode (they can't jump out in a hurry, not unless I opened the front door). We've been on "a few" trips and even camping trips with all the family, we were OK. Had enough space for all the items we took with us. Hell once we even carried a spare wheel on our roof rack from one of our buddies who came with his Subaru Forester, had an LPG tank in the space where the spare wheel is supposed to be, so usually has the spare wheel in the luggage compartment, but for this trip they also had a lot of luggage so needed space for their spare wheel. Road handling is quite OK for this SUV, I am not comparing to the WRX or Acuras, because it is not anything like those. I know why I bought the car, it is 100% up to the task, so I am happy with it.

I love my RTT, but the points you mention are spot on. I will add a few more cons. High winds, forget getting a good sleep. Lightning storms. Not the best place to be with heavy lightning. Missed a nice photo of the midnight sun at the arctic circle because I had to retreat from a high point camp spot because of impending lightning. No stealth camping.
