I haven't checked recently, but they make foot warmers that are designed to go in your shoe. But they are designed to get hotter with less oxygen, so if you just put them in your loose sock the risk of getting burned increases!

Where in PA is a good get out spot? We just left over new years visiting my wife’s family and made our way down to Cohutta GA which was considerably colder. As Floridians “at least I am” we left 2days early @28f that morning and running low on firewood. We were in no danger as we had the truck and diesel heater and never mind a generator and electric heater. Would be cool to find a spot near the wife’s folks in Marble PA.
