Great job, liked how you did some close up video of the paint. Good color choice too. We have a sled trailer with DynaMax fiber strand floor. I'd like to add the Deck over product to enhance the water resistance of the engineered flooring.

Jacob that is a nice desk! I used to own a very old roll top desk. Aesthetically it was pleasing but honestly it was meant for letter writing and all of the accoutrements, pens, paper etc. it really was not a good Tying Desk. Too many weird books and crannies that swallowed up many small things over the years. When I sold that house, i left the desk behind. Your Rolltop is beautifully designed, specifically for tying and you made out like a Bandit. Well done! Nowadays I use a small meeting table made for an office. What got me interested was that it was Free and advertised as a "Boat Shaped," table. This was pretty cool and I put some cabinets on it. Thanks for sharing your desk with us! It was very kind!

Every Time we go -- we choose to use the metal fire ring that the park placed there...but we have to clean out the trash and ash first or you can not get air under the "ring" to make a decent burn... -- I am not suggesting it BUT -- not sure why we permit up -- I have never seen a ranger in there. - . The NC Side of the park gets very little supervision. Maybe Park it Forward might change that -- but very unlikely -- the money will go into the salaries of upper management and for popular TN stops.

Hack, not a sportsman when you don't know how to handle fish (TROUT) ESPECIALLY IN DELAYED HARVEST WATER WHERE OTHER PEOPLE LIKE CATCHING TROUT TOO, AND NOT DEAD ONES!!! GROW UP

Dude, I'm lost? I usually don't respond to internet trolls, but you won my attention today. In what way did my handling of these trout in this video not meet your "expectations"? I'm not perfect by any means, however all but one of these fish I netted, kept in the water, and had my hands wet when handling. . . . . ? I think the one small rainbow I just used my hands . . . . .? You seriously are jumping on the wrong person here, I'm a good guy who respects the waters and the fish as much as anyone out there. I'm not sure who hurt you but you need to check yourself, out of ALL the messed up videos of people handling trout and you CHOSE this one to comment on?
@michaeljocoy5086
@michaeljocoy5086 Жыл бұрын
I appreciate you doing what you love but I certainly wish you would learn how to handle trout always wet your hands and keep them in the water in a net while you're trying to get the hook out and release them The salt on your hands will ruin their skin take the slime off and possibly kill them. If you go back to the same place a day or two later and see fish floating belly side up you'll know why and what you've done It's really pretty simple to take care of our fishery You should try it spread the word among your friends

Please don’t handle our Tuck trout, or any trout with gloves on or dry hands. Those who live here enjoy catching 80+ trout in a day and we would like to keep it that way. Taking the membrane off the trout can kill them within minutes. Getting skunked in the tuck is nearly impossible btw lol😂. Glad you enjoyed the day.

Me too...I found a fixer upper old roll top desk on Craigslist for $25. It did need some work, every joint in the thing was popped, so I just took it completely apart, re glued & clamped it all, re did the cloth on the tambors, cut a wastehole, drilled a hole to run power in & wired it up for USB power for my light & device charging et voila! I'm all in less than $100...

All the people asking for handouts on where to go, figure it out! When everyone spot burns and flocks to those spots those spots lose their magic. He told you the river now go explore and find your own spot. And when you find yourself a honey hole of your own don't blast it youtube. Planters are one thing that's fine but wild trout populations especially in california are fragile and can only take so much angling pressure

I guess the real question here is were you able to find suitable branches to actually hang the bag on the Colorado trail or did you sleep with it/just tie it to a tree?
@JacobFinger

Usually just tie to a tree! I have used the Ursack now all over the country, I personally believe it to be the best compromise vs. a traditional bear bag and a hard sided canister!

@@JacobFinger the picture i seen with my own eyes is of a guy that was stretched out. It looked like a video game character from 2005 lol (little exaggerating) but it was bad.. there is zero reason why they cost so much it is a cheap product way way way over priced. If it’s not a scam then it’s just bad unethical choices to put such a horrible product for so much money and say it’s great. So yea I think that’s a scam.

I wear Smart wool . They are about $49. retail. No odor. I hand wash them in Nickwax wool wash and some Pine Sol because I love Pine SOl and its a great natural cleaner and one of the only smells bears hate..(I live in Alaska) Smart wool is not 100% but close to it. I hang dry them. I did not like the Icebreakers but Icebreakers are well made. If you want your undies to last longer do not put them in a hot dryer.

Right on! Yep, the hot dryer will 100 percent degrade the material quick! Truthfully, they both make great products!

We have fished Hazel Creek for the last 20+ years. Many locals spin cast rather than fly fish in the upper regions of the creek due to the overgrowth. Day- trippers tend to fish the lower 2-3 miles, but above your Campsite (“Sawdust Pile” BC Campsite #85) is the better water and larger fish. Farther up the creek, above Bone Valley (Campsite #83) and in many of the small feeder streams you will find our native species of trout (they are technically a “Char”) locally called “Specs” or Speckled Trout. Where the pools begin to get smaller they can compete with Rainbows and Brown Trout. I would suggest that if you make it out this way again, you come in late March - Mid April. You will be able to avoid the early fishing pressure the streams get later in the year. We always go in on a Sunday and usually have miles of creek entirely to ourselves. There is a lot of local history you can research on line of the Smokey’s and explore there if you are interested… ruins of sawmills, mines, mountain home places, cemeteries etc. I enjoyed your video, thanks for posting it. If this comment interests you, you may like my video “Ugly Guys On Hazel Creek”. Thanks for visiting us & Good Fishing!

Great video Jacob. This is on my bucket list but it has been closed due the fire we had up there. How far did you hike in from the parking lot? Thanks.
@JacobFinger
@JacobFinger 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I feel so fortunate to have had the chance to go before the fire, this was literally earlier in the summer before the fire! I believe the hike from the parking area is about 2.5 to 3 miles to get to the river, it is basically all downhill going in! It just is a pain hiking out because then it's all uphill haha! But yes, I want to go back as well! My dream is to hike on in to an area called Big Kern Lake, basically you can just follow the Kern River a long way into the wilderness and get into quite possibly the most remote "large river" in the country! Thanks for the comment!

Based on experience, the rewards of fishing Hazel creek are no longer matched by the effort and expense required to access it. Lots of better alternatives than this once great creek.
