I tried an experiment with my Mavic 3. I went to check my mail, 3 kms away. I flew the drone back to my home and set it to land on my front lawn. I did so by pressing RTH, and it gave me 2 choices: RTH or land. I chose land. It descended, and when it lost signal, I assumed I'd find it when I got home. It was not there, so I concluded that it returned to where it took off. I was right, it was there, hovering, with the message that there was no suitable place to land. Apparently the "land" command is over-ridden by loss of signal, causing it to RTH.

Random comment: Visiting Tulum in low season (mid-summer), you can practically have the place to yourself. Unfortunately mid-day heating makes for strong shore winds. My dream is flying a light-weight fixed-wing drone around Picacho del Diablo (northern Baja). You'd probably have the place to yourself there, too.

100% wrong. The FAA rule is 400 ft. AGL wherever the drone is, not where you took off from. Dji only shows you the high above the take off point, but thats now how the law works. Like the other commenter said, only way to go above 400 is when you are less than 400 ft away from structures in uncontrolled airspace, in that case, you can go 400ft above the structure.

Check the regulations: you can also be up to 400' above a marked (in a sectional) obstruction. So that 1500' cell tower in the middle of nowhere can be flown over, but only 400' over it and 400' around it (no further than 400 feet away from its center). Remember, planes are supposed to treat it like a solid cylinder.

absolutely everything in nyc is regulated and controlled. its disgusting. ive lived here my entire life and dealt with this at every point in my life while trying to have fun or get something done here. its constant roadblocks for everything. on another note. if someone was to film a video and or post it.. could they get tracked down and get in trouble?

If you are thinking of taking and flying a drone in Mexico, DON"T. It is 100% illegal for any non Mexican citizen to fly a drone here. Just bringing one in to Mexico can be a nightmare. It can be confiscated or at least you will be forced to pay the import duty on it. Those signs you see saying no drone flying etc are intended for Mexican citizens. You might get away with it, like speeding, but sooner or later you will get caught. Cops here in Mexico are always looking to make a quick dollar.

Sorry to disagree, but it stresses the gimbal mechanism when you flip your drone over like that. Not recommended unless its a true emergency.

Dji mavic air 2 vertical video shoot possible?

Suppose we are alway from drone or drone are at low level like 20ft in garden or under tress.sudenly we need RTH but if i had set RTH HEIGHT AT 200 feets.. My question is that when my dji air 3 prepear him for goto 200 feets (for set RTH position but drone are at under tress so what will b happened.. They did or not colapsed with tress..? Pls clear my confusion
