Hi mate, I am starting a new save and want to ask you when to add in the scouting details and put the top divisions for scouting players, because I will start in the Serie C, should I put lower leagues instead of the top divisions? Thanks

@FalseNine.9 Yeah. I'd usually go for leagues with reputation around your own. Players in top leagues tend come at a premium.

Would you believe me, if I said I did this, ranking my team's, my reserve's and U19's best and second best 11, two times each season? I'm currently running a Youth Academy Challenge, so playing time is extremely important for my youth players' development. I've been doing this process of finding the best combination for each squad (not algebraically, just eye balling it as precise as I can) for 11 in game years. I can't believe this tool, it's gonna save me literal dozens of hours of playing time. Thank you so much.
@taktischeseinhorn809419 күн бұрын
This is great work. Really nice expansion of the tool! I wonder about a few functionalities: 1. Sometimes you have to field a player for various reasons (promise, important unhappy player, ...). Would it make sense to add an option that a certain player has to a) be on the pitch b) be on the pitch in a specific position c) be on the pitch with a specific role, while the rest of the squad is then calculated around that restriction? 2. Does this consider footedness? I can see that it recommend a right foot for my left back, which he is natural at but I need my wing backs to cross the ball so they should be strong with the outside foot. I'd also prefer to habe my IF have the strong foot on the inside of the pitch. So maybe does it make sense to either include footedness or (maybe easier) do the reverse to 1. and disallow a player from playing in a specific position. 3. To not have to re-export the file would it be possible to just mark a player as inelligible at all? Could be that he is out for a week with a minor injury. Again, great work!
@FMDataLab18 күн бұрын
Hey! 1. That's something I could possibly add in the future, good idea 2. Not currently, but that's a fair point, it is a little tricky though, I will look into it. I will need to handle inverted wide roles in this implementation too. 3. Yes, that could be possible, however, it's possible from the time of the first export to another, players' attributes may have changed. In the interim, what you can do, is manually remove the `<tr` element in the HTML file that contains that player, the `tr` will end with `</tr>`

Question mate. I am starting a save in Serie C. I was thinking to add in the scouting edit, instead of the top leagues 1st divisions, to add top leagues but 2nd or 3rd divisions to find players to match my team's division. That would work in moneyball and finding players?

Interesting, the one missing piece of this calculation is the hidden attributes, they seem to play a bigger role than what they seem to. All this can point toward a great player, but let's say they have a high proness to injury, or hate big matches, then things will most likely not go as we wish even if all the attributes are there. From SI manual it also state for example three attributes which are universally important for all positions: decisions, anticipation and positioning. Not sure how that would affect your role ratings though.

This is insane work, congratulations. I do wonder if adding some kind of artificial score adjustment to different roles could be useful to bring them all kind of on to the same scale. Like maybe all role scores get x 20 / 'max score for role'. Not sure if that would help comparisons a bit or not.
@FMDataLab24 күн бұрын
@marimar1093 Definitely, I think the discovery of these differences from working on this feature does highlight a potential issue with the Role score weightings. I might play around with the weightings at some point to try and get all max role scores to get in or around the same max score.

Hi looks interesting, to help automate making a lot of comparisons and making a great tactic based on what we have, however do I need to create an account to use the tool ? Can I use it without creating an account ? Also does this work for FM console ? I think they share same data and roles as PC version. Sadly another caveat is that this tool only works for PC version of FM, console players are left out, the views are not allowed to be imported there, guess they use different data then, but not sure.
@FMDataLab24 күн бұрын
@gamefan8552 You can use the role scores tool now without signing up, www.fmdatalab.com/upload But to use the tactic feature, you will need to sign up as tactics are linked to user accounts. You won't be able to use with FM Console, however, as you can't export data from console like you can with the desktop version.

Hey, glad to hear that FMDataLab has pulled you back into FM, but sorry to hear about the issues you're having with the Role Scores Tool. - Do you have attribute masking enabled? If so, that may be the reason as the players in your exported HTML file from FM may only have a number of attribute values, where the rest may be just displayed as `-`. - Does your exported HTML file have all the correct attribute values for each player? (If you do have attribute masking enabled, you may see some attribute values as `-`.) - Do you get any error windows on FMDataLab, or any x or warning icons on the table?

@sherifddin-9612 It sounds like you've imported the role score views e.g. "fmdatalab_player_search_view" instead of the Moneyball views e.g. "fmdatalab_moneyball_player_search_view" (note the _moneyball in the .fmf filename) The moneyball views will be in the "Moneyball" directory within the extracted zip file. Or just download the specific Moneyball views from www.fmdatalab.com/tutorials/moneyball#Downloading_Moneyball_Views

How would you go about adjusting the stat weights for a Target Forward that you would play floated crosses to so he would score most his goals by heading in crosses and from corners?
@FMDataLab2 ай бұрын
For this specific style of play, the key attributes to prioritise when adjusting role weights would be; - "Heading", ensuring you have a player adept at converting crosses and corners with precision. - "Finishing" is equally essential, guaranteeing the player can capitalise on the opportunities created for them. - "Jumping Reach" is another crucial attribute, allowing the player to rise above defenders, especially taller centre-backs, to contest and win aerial challenges. - "Off The Ball" and "Positioning" will enable your player to consistently make intelligent runs and position themselves optimally to meet incoming crosses. - "Strength" could also be advantageous, ensuring the player can hold their own physically and not be easily outmuscled in the penalty area. - "Bravery", could also factor a little, as this reflects the player’s willingness to challenge for aerial duels in potentially dangerous situations where others with lower "Bravery" may hesitate.

Assistance with Filtering Multiple Players in FM24 and Moneyball Tool. While working on a FM save, I came across a challenge while using the Moneyball tool. After exporting the player role score data [I filtered for players with a Sweeper Keeper rating of 13+ and exported the results], which gave me around 150 players. However, I am facing difficulties in refining my selection further using the FM 'Player search' and the Moneyball tool. I want to analyze only the above 150 players stats using Moneyball tool, but in Football Manager's Player Search, I found that there is no option to filter out multiple names or use a "one-off" filter under the "Name" or "Unique ID" set. The system only allows filtering for one result per condition. The same applies when using the Moneyball tool - I am unable to filter or search for multiple names at once. Is there a way to achieve this within Football Manager or with the Moneyball tool? I would appreciate any suggestions or workarounds that you could provide to help me in this scenario. Thank you for your time and the incredible work you do! You inspired me to deep dive into sports analytics and the way I play our beloved game FOOTBALL MANAGER!

Got any idea of a good way to filter out players in much lower leagues? Is the easiest way to specify each league you want to include - or maybe just to exclude the ones you dont...though both could be quite lengthy
@FMDataLab2 ай бұрын
Yeah, a bit of a tricky one. You can filter on World Reputation to filter out low reputation players, but you might have some relatively unknown players with a low World Reputation that play in top leagues that would get excluded by filtering on a minimum of X World Reputation.

@tomkmb4120 The alternate views are just for when you have an issue with the default views, they were generated by another user who had issues with the moneyball views, they're the same columns, just helps when users may have any issues with the default moneyball views. Details here www.fmdatalab.com/tutorials/moneyball#I_am_getting_an_error,_how_can_I_resolve and in my recent video. I'll need to add a README file, thanks for reminding me.
