That poor, poor p, dog Shep🥲. Thank you Mandy. My earliest, and most loved, childhood memories are of being on my grandparents ranch in Scotts Valley, California with two dogs and a cat. One dog was named Tex, the other, with a black and white coat I called Panda. I named the kitten Motorboat because she purred like an engine when I petted her. The two dogs always, and I really do mean always, accompanied me to the creek in the gulch behind the ranch house where I caught crawdads for dinner. My grandmother gave me a metal coffee can, string, and bacon and always wished me luck in getting dinner for us. I never failed to fill the can. No better, loyal, and faithful friend can man have than that of a dog. R.I.P. Shep. I hope he’s tagging along with his master in heaven.

@Crafting chaos with Melanie hello there! I was raised in Havre and it gets well below freezing 🥶 in the winter starting around Halloween. Yes a 4 x 4 is an excellent idea and snow tires ( tires built with steel studs for traction) or snow chains ⛓️ come in handy because the roads can't always be plowed due to weather 🌡️ instabilities. I realize this is a year later but I hope it helps you 🙏

He's a beautiful donkey. The 2nd time my husband and I visited Montana, we drove our semi up. Hi Brian, thank you so much for writing and being so encouraging. I have never been to Alabama. I would love to go but I think I would pick that your beautiful accent. You will love it in our beautiful state of Montana. My suggestion is when you know what city or county you are going to look up the chamber of commerce for that area. You can get so much information there. I am getting ready to post Fort Benton again about Shep, the faithful dog. There seriously is so much history around our small towns. Keep me posted on your travels. Or if you need more information please ask, I would love to help. Stay safe, Mandy 😀

I've talked about Montana and done research on it literally everyday for over 3 years lol. I know so much more about Montana than the state I live in😂 I know all the counties and most of the towns. We're gonna start out in Custer county. Most likely Miles City, then probably Glendive in Dawson county, and then Hill County, and on from there🙂 we have about 7 counties we're wanting to rent in, then find a forever home up there. Mandy, it is ironic that you mentioned about bringing a picnic lunch and parking along the road somewhere and just absorb the atmosphere. I have always wanted to park somewhere just off of US 2 and do just that. Set up a picnic area before sunrise and stay there until after sunset. I could totally enjoy the wind, the sky, just everything. I have got to make that happen. This past summer, my Sister and I stopped along US 2 near Galata, about an hour before sunset. There is a nice pullout there somewhere around mile marker 301. We got out of the car and watched as the sun set behind the Sweetgrass Hills. How awesomely peaceful. When there were no cars passing by on US 2 we were in complete silence. I have chills just thinking about that.

Mandy, keep on doing more of these small town videos. I am from the Cincinnati area, but I love Montana. Galata, Ethridge, Cut Bank, and Browning are all small towns along the Hi-Line that I would like to see featured. Your interviews with local residents are very interesting to me. I have always wanted to hike US 2 from the North Dakota border to the Idaho border, but logistically that would be too risky. I also like Shelby. My Sister and I stayed there a couple of nights this past July while traveling across Montana. We took a drive into the Bears Paw Mountains, which is just south of Havre. I want to visit the Sweetgrass Hills up close. I have admired them from US 2. Keep up the great work Mandy. Your videos are terrific. I really enjoyed your video on Joplin. Thank You again Mandy.

Jack, Thanks so much for your feedback on the towns you would like featured. It's snowing here at the moment and HWY 2 can be a bit dicey in the snow. But, I will definitely check them out. Thanks so much for the suggestions. You talk about hiking along HWY 2. You would be surprised how many people are on bicycle and hiking across country! you're right. I would have to be with friend(s) to do that one. But I would probably die just biking across town! Thanks so much for being so encouraging. Keep watching. Happy Holidays, Mandy :)
