Your finishes are lovely. I am a finisher, too. If I stitch it, I finish it. I stitch pieces because I want it displayed or gifted, so I don't have a box of unfinished pieces. Now with quilting, I do get behind. 😮 i like watching your videos brcause I enjoy seeing you stitch and finish. ❤

Your finishes are wonderful! You should be so proud of them. I would love to learn how to stitch using the sewing method. I wanted to do that this summer while home from teaching, but I was diagnosed with breast cancer and am having chemotherapy and my brain isn’t functioning properly so I’ll have to wait until next summer. And congratulations on starting quilting. It is so much fun. Your blocks are perfect. I also have the purple flower box that sits behind you on your counter 😊. Thank you for answering the questions you receive (Sarah W had asked you for me about your tags a few weeks ago….shes such a great friend 😉). Look forward to your next video. ❤❤❤

Paula, I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I hope the chemo is working well and that you’ll be able to get back to normal activity soon. The sewing method is pretty easy once you get the hang of it, but just take your time and start slowly. When I first started learning to stitch in hand, I would do it for a few minutes at a time until I felt comfortable enough with it to go for longer stretches.
@paulamcmellon61712 күн бұрын
@@sarahsstitchery thank you Sarah! Unfortunately I can’t return in the fall because chemo will end in October and then 4-6 weeks after that will be the surgery. Then radiation. My hope is to return after Christmas. I am planning to retire after the 2025-26 school year so I must go back this year. Teaching was a career change at 46 so I must teach 20 years for 40% pension. I can tell you are an awesome 4th grade teacher. Your students are lucky to have you 💕

Gorgeous WIPs Sarah. On the Quaker that you are worried about the fabric not being cut straight - run a line of running stitches from the very top edge of the stitching you’ve already done all the way across your fabric width. That will allow you to see just how “ off” the fabric has been cut and whether your margins are going to be ok. Fingers crossed for you.

Loved seeing all the stitching - beautiful finishes. Love that you’re going to quilt. I’ve been a quilter for at least 35 years. You made that Tiger Lily bag and that’s not a beginner pattern! I’m a multi crafter - stitch, quilt, wool appliqué, crochet and a few months ago I decided to learn to knit. I have to say the knitting is kicking my butt LOL - I will persevere. Quilting is really fun and it’s a great community!
