who got the sudarshana lake repaired ? saka ruler rudradaman i or him ?
@Rig-HistoryExtended19 күн бұрын
It was first built by Chandragupta Maurya, then Rudradaman repaired it. Again it was at a very bad condition during the time of Kumaragupta I. So, Skandagupta repaired it again. The Junagadh inscriptions contains the detailed history of the lake. Go through my video on Rudradaman. It may help. Thanks for taking your time and watching the video.

Tamilians are the real Aryans. They are also Dravidians because the land is a peninsula. Life started in Kumari khandam which later sunk into the Indian Ocean. Therefore habitants of Kumari khandam migrated to the land as the land broke into forming different continents of Africa, Asia, Australia etc. That is why at the sea shore of this separation line we can find the same DNA (ie in Tamil, Africans etc). The belief that people moved from Africa to Indian through the banks of the seas is therefore wrong. Kumari is Sati. After she got submerged due to some volcanic activity (mentioned as self immolation in the puranas), her body got cut into 108 places and expanded out as if by a centripetal force (indicated by Sudarshana chakra cutting her into 108 pieces by MahaVishnu as Shiva became terribly angry and started the cosmic dance taandava which all feared would destroy the world). Only after disbursing the pieces did the anger of the yajna subside and Shiva moved to the Himalayas. Later he joined with Prakriti or Shakti - matter joined with energy and the world existed as a combination of matter and energy in exact half - termed as ArdhaNaareeshwara. It was Vishnu who through the disc of Sudarshana. Vishnu means that which expands.

Brilliant history lesson. I am very happy to hear Ananda advocated for women. I dont understand why the Buddha said to limit the acceptance of women to monastic order because it would die out sooner? Perhaps it had more to do with societal norms than equality. Surely, he viewed women and men as equal since he taught form is emptiness and emptiness is form. The soul reincarnates between genders as needed for benefit of world. Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara chose to be in female form in China in the form of Kwan Yin or Guan Yin. He show society it does not matter what gender an Enlightened being takes form in. He was able to remain a buddha but out of his compassion for sentient beings, he took rebirth in samsara as a female. Guan Yin is more widely known in the global world, beyond Buddhist countries. This goes to show that the dharma will spread faster to more people in a female form. Humans naturally seek comfort from a mother's warmth gentleness and love. This is why Guan Yin form of Bodhisattva is so popular around the world. Compassionate care and nurturing is the quality of the mother, in a female form. I hope Buddhist leaders will understand this and appoint nuns to teach Buddhist wisdom for the sake of the world's innumerable sentient beings who are suffering.

Are Satavahana and Sathan in Tamil land are related. Sathan is a kind of Demigod referred in the tamil epic Silapathikaram written during the same period of Satavahanas. Stavahana caves in Kaneri Mumbai have statues of Avalokeshwara/Padmapani. Sathan as depicted in Sithannavasal paintings in Tamilnadu is also somewhat similar to Avalokeshwara/Padmapani.

Who were the Vidyadhara (Brahmins?), Rashtrikas and Bhojakas?
@Rig-HistoryExtended3 ай бұрын
The Vidyadharas are semi-divine beings found in Hindu, Jain, and Buddhist traditions. They are known as "wisdom-holders" and possess magical powers, including the ability to fly and change their appearance at will. In Hindu mythology, they serve gods like Indra and Shiva and reside in the regions between earth and sky, often depicted with radiant appearances and youthful, eternal beauty. They play significant roles in various texts, such as the "Kathasaritsagara" and the epics "Mahabharata" and "Ramayana," where they are often shown as benevolent beings who possess esoteric knowledge and supernatural abilities The Rashtrikas were an ancient tribe or people mentioned in various historical texts of India. They are believed to have been significant in the Deccan region during the early historical period. The Rashtrikas are often mentioned alongside the Bhojakas and other regional powers in inscriptions, indicating their role in the local governance and administration. Their precise identity and the extent of their political influence remain subjects of scholarly research, but they are considered important in the study of early Indian political and social structures. The Bhojakas were another influential group in ancient India, often associated with the Rashtrikas. They were significant in the local governance of regions in the Deccan and Western India. In various inscriptions, the Bhojakas are mentioned in administrative contexts, suggesting they held positions of power and responsibility. Like the Rashtrikas, the Bhojakas are an essential part of the study of ancient Indian polity, highlighting the complex and varied nature of regional governance during that period. These groups played crucial roles in the socio-political and cultural landscape of ancient India, contributing to the region's rich history and governance structures.

The battle of the ten kings with Sudas was a religious conflict in the Aryan (vedic) society. Sudas and his Rishi were on the side of the Devas which had defeated the Daityas and thrown them into Patala. The ten tribes and their Rishi were on the side of the Daityas. They attacked Sudas but were defeated and expelled from India which lead to the split of the Aryan (vedic) society in the Indian part which worshiped the Devas and the Iranian Part which continued to worship the Daityas. This war therefore must have happened according to the ancient greek historian Herodot around 17.500 BC, when the Devas (which the Greeks call Olympians) defeated the Daityas (which the Greeks call Titans) and threw them into Patala (which the Greeks call Tartaros) which is even mentioned in 2. Peter 2, 4 in the Bible.

😂😂😂What are you talking about? Farmers used the vedic hymns to protect their fields in later (!) vedic times?😂😂😂 In later vedic times already Brahmins and later (probably after the compilation of Brahmanas) also temples existed. The sacrificial rituals then were executed by the brahmins which used the Brahmanas as guideline. That means not the hymns of the Rigveda were used but the Rigs were taken out of their original context and used for the brahmanical purposes in the sacrifices. It is very likely that at that time the original meaning and purpose of the vedic hymns were no more known. The donation of kings in the Veda was not given to Brahmins but to Rishis (and thus of earlier vedic times)! The Rishis are of a much higher rank than the Brahmins because the Rishis created hymns while the Brahmins only used the hymns which were created by the Rishis! This shows that the Brahmins were not able to create own hymns!

The Rigveda as we have it is only from the last part of Dvaparayuga or even the beginning of Kaliyuga as can be seen from the content. But this is not the age of the Hymns because the Rigveda is a compilation of hymns of different yugas which are not arranged chronologically. Even the Rigveda (though more clearly the Puranas) show that there is only one creator (Brahman who created Brahma) who also gave the Atma (mostly translated as Self but meaning the Odem of Lifes) which created the personal spirit (Jiva) in the first birth. Atma is the silent witness whiich stores the personal Karma and therefore rules the incarnation of the spirit. The Upanishads lay their major emphasis on the liberation of the spirit from the circle of births, but they don't realize that it is the duty of the individual spirit to liberate the individual soul from death (through serving the spirit) and that above all Brahman (the creator) rules. That means he is the only god who should be worshipped (as it was in Kritayuga) and this is called Sanatana Dharma. Sanatana Dharma is for every being everywhere in the universe the same. In contrast Varnashrama Dharma is for every being and class or caste at every yuga and location as well as stage of life different. Hinduism (as every other religious rite!) is therefore only Varnashrama Dharma, while Sanatana Dharma is above Varnashrama Dharma and sets limits to it. Sanatana Dharma is the sense of life and means to save all kind of life because this is valid for all beings everywhere in the universe.

Kings before and after him, from the same dynasty, were Jain. Jains propagate vegetarianism. Buddhists eat meat - and Buddha's last meal was pork! So if anything, Ashoka was Jain and not buddhist! Both religions flourished at the same time and used similar language for describing dhamma, sangha even 'arhat' - their monks and religious leaders.

If Ashoka was so upset by the sorrow of Kalinga, why didn't he give them independence and return the kingdom to its former rulers? There is an urdu saying that a cat killed a 100 mice before going on a pilgrimage to mecca!

The depiction at 18:50 shows the earth axis depicted as tree (as in the Mahabharata and the Puranas) and show the rotation. It seems to point to the fact that according to the Vedas and the Puranas the north pole ("navel of the earth") once (in Tretayuga) was located in the Himalayas in India and was the only place of worshiping. In this case the constellation Taurus (which is also shown on other seals as worshiped) is rotating. This refers to the age of Taurus (the age, when sun rises in the sign of Taurus for now about 2150 years, in Tretayuga for 3600 years = 1 Saros) in the course of precession.
@penoge4 ай бұрын
In my opinion it is not decided that the script on the seals is the same which was ordinary used by the Indus-Sarasvati civilisation. According to Srimad Bhagavatam 12.1.39 that was a post-vedic secular society which is confirmed by the fact that the archeologists have found neither temples nor places of worshiping in the cities of this civilisation. The baths found in the cities more likely point to a social function than to a religious one. BUT the depictions on the seals clearly show religious scenes which are related to the Veda! Thus in my opinion the script on the seals belongs to an earlier vedic period than the Indus-Sarasvati Civilisation.
