hey i know its been a minute but you should check out sonic riders tournament edition. its got some tech tweaks that make it a little different without changing the core understanding of how the game works. also has some more characters and balance changes to boards

I like the other designs for infinite so damn much, the final version/cracked mask design(s) is too Hatred level edgy for me, on an unironic degree of no self awareness. The 4th design with web mask and tail's probably my favorite.

I feel like they gave the tail to tangle instead because they realized how bad forces was going to be or at least how a cool gimmick like that would be wasted on a villain when they could get way more mileage out of it as a gameplay mechanic on a potential future player character (she appears in a mobile game at least and is canon to the games so maybe one day we will see a tail mechanic in action).

all sonic riders games, no matter how bad they are, they do NOT miss with the MUSIC the themes of sand ruin, green cave, and babylon garden go SO unironically hard i listen to them SO OFTEN and do not get me STARTED on "catch me if you can" (specifically from zero gravity)

you do NOT have to start on a normal race to understand it (although it will probably help)!!! when i started playing i went straight to story and i learned how to rail grind and such on runs that i messed up loool it is so fun to play and learn that i dont mind playing the same level a few times best sonic game of all time imo

This game is solid, not good but a normal game. The microtransactions are god awful and some of the worst ever. The story was terrible and not well written at all. That’s where the real failure lies in this game. Even with zombies all the writing is just utter dogshit.

I couldnt tolerate it after 20 minutes. I heard 1991 and gulf war and came in expecting an authentic experience. But its so far from it

I played a handful of cod and there all different in some way the only thing I don’t like is how advanced warfare get hated so much yet boots on the ground is great yet can be stale and it’s understandable knowing the fans don’t know what they want i until they get it and start complaining about the things that they don’t like

I think Zero Gravity was mid. Not a lot of player input and most of the gameplay has you on auto pilot once you know what you're doing. The OG had a formula that wasn't broken, so deviating from that is what led to this series to fold sooner then it should have. Sega literally had its counterpart with Mario Kart but blew it. They over-simplified way too many features and made it boring, plus having to earn rings to use the speed/fly/power features was a lame move. It's the OG for me all day, I wish they would've just built off from it for the sequel games.

One of Sonic’s other beta designs was actually a bunny. Sonic could’ve been a bunny but decided to stick with him being a hedgehog.

Eggmanland is peak in my eyes because it was one of the attempts that Eggman successfully built when in other games, his attempt of building it was thwarted many times. Granted, Eggmanland was destroyed after the world was put back together, but I still count that as a success.

I’m surprised you didn’t touch on Feels The Rabbit or the fact that the pajama Eggman was a design proposed as the original protagonist of the game.

As a long time, even 'golden era' cod fan, thanks for a genuine review dude. Bo6 was actually so good but people dogged so much on it just bc of MWIII and Activision's corporate greed. I loved this game and got the platinum trophy so seeing an unbiased review from a friend is really good to see. Goated video as always GDubs.

Saying beta blaze looks terrible is crazy that would be so awesome if it was her burning form it would’ve really pushed the theme of opposites between her and sonic in that game

About a decade ago now, I found Zero Gravity in the preowned section at my local game store. I LOVED Riders so much that it was a no-brainer purchase for me. To get familiar with the new contoller (switching from PS2 riders to Wii ZG) I trialed some free-play races and was massively confused: Why aren't I able to manually trick - and how do I charge my jump? How do I sharply turn? Why can't I use the fly ramp? So much was missing that I couldn't get used to it, especially since OG Riders has such a high skill ceiling in comparison and that developed itch wasn't being scratched with ZG. It's a shame too since the tracks look beautiful and well-crafted, I'd love to play on them in some mish-mash of the games engines where it plays like Riders but has functioning Zero-Gravity mechanics. I think we can at least agree that the Extreme Gear is the more mid-looking ZG when comparing the two lineups. Blue Star II just coughing in the general direction of many of the ZG boards would turn them to scrap metal.
