Both of those V37 Brown Craw you showed were Pre-Rapala. You could tell by the ugly seam down the back. The Pre-Rap V37 came in many different Brown color variations depending on when and where it was made. The newer one have a totally smooth back

Couple additions from a collector. Many times you can't see the "Wiggle Wart" stamp on the bait. Just look at the mold seam. If it looks like crap it is Pre-Rap, If totally smooth it's newer. Another thing NOBODY ever mentions is the difference in sound they make. Solid lip is louder rattles and higher pitched. Clear lip, the entire bait is clear and softer plastic so sound is quieter and deeper sounding. The lead rattles that get stuck are usually on the clear bill Warts. The rattles go side to side in a chamber. Hitting the belly on each side repeatedly with the rubber coated handle of long nose pliers usually gets them free. SP means "Special Production". SV means "suspending"

I fish MIchigan waters and find that the crawcolors work great in rivers, but in lakes, I find that "Natural Perch" outperforms all other color patterns. MIght be the white bill flashing that attracts the bass and walleyes. I hate to use them now because Pike love them as well.

Right away, the second you said magnet and no latch was where you lost me. Anyone who has used anything with magnets know they are not reliable. Might be okay for just storing at home but I would never take this out ont he water with me. Quick test: fill the case up your skirted jigs, don't put them in slots, just let them hang out loosely and tip the case upside down and give a good shake. If that case opens up, right away you know it's no good.

Bass are colorblind. They have the condition called Tritanopia. They cannot see colors in the blue and violet scale. Also, they cannot differentiate between white and chartreuse, or silver and gold to bass black and blue and Junebug are the exact same color knowing this will save you a lot of money a spinner bait and a chartreuse spinner bait are the exact same color to a bass.
