He didn't. The answer is simple: he's using an addon. Either ACT plugins to tell him what his debuffs and such are going to be, or something similar. So he doesn't have to pay attention to it. Kinda lame imo, but a clear is a clear.

im late but the answer is both. You Hold R2 or L2 and then press either the d pad or the corresponding button. Theres more to the crossbar like R2+L2 or the Double Tap but thats the basics.

My raid leader told me I was doing ok, but I've been sitting at an average of 13k dps, and at this point she thinks I just need more practice on the actual fight and making sure I don't slip up on keeping my mana balanced. I have a habit of panicking and moving before my cast is finished enough to still go off lol

I was running the normal 2.50 bis (ffxiv.ariyala.com/1CJJ3) except for 1 crafted ring and belt, and i480 normal raid head. ( Meld: Crit > DH ≥ DET) In this specific fight i had a lot of buffs on me that's why my dmg is so high, but if you want to improve just use Balance's discord. There join RDM channels and you'll find a lot of information like guide optimization ecc, the rest is just practice :D

He was dancer buffed and honestly the thumbnail pic is kinda misleading anyway. I don't know where he's getting the 19.1k from that he shows in the thumbnail but the actual number shown on fflogs is 18.7k with an rDPS of 17.3k or so. A good number for sure but definitely not 19k. There is no 19k RDM parse in this fight from anyone.
