Did you put the spackle on all of the joints or just where 2 panels come together.? Did you paint all of the seams too or just the bricks? It looks like all of the mortar joints are painted.

I LOVE IT!!! That is not DIY . That is a PRO!!! I want the brick design but hesitant to do it on my own or get a pro carpenter that he may not do it properly. I am torn between this design or the wood slats.

Doesn’t the dry roller absorb paint and then become not dry anymore? Did you have to do anything to mitigate that or you just keep going with the paint covered “dry” roller and it’s ok?
@AmyLynn1
@AmyLynn1 7 күн бұрын
I didn't put the paint on too heavy so the dry roller never got very wet it just helps pick up the excess paint

do you think this would work (spackling seems, etc) over faux brick wallpaper, too?
@AmyLynn1
@AmyLynn1 7 күн бұрын
I don't think it would cause it would add texture and wallpaper is too smooth and would end up looking unrealistic

I don’t have an extra piece of the brick, that’s why I was asking. Also, did you paint in between the bricks first? Then go back and paint the bricks? sorry for all the questions. I just wanna make sure I do this right. I couldn’t tell if you took the spackle and did in between the bricks and then painted or if you just painted the faux cement. Thanks so much

@@tamidonnelly714 sorry for the late reply! If you go to my channel and click on the community page I posted a picture of the custom color I used. I filled in my seam first and did go to the sides a bit with spackle just to blend it in so it wasn't an obvious line down the middle. Then I painted the bricks that had the seam the red paint color then went ahead with the white wash and did all the bricks and the "mortar" at the same time. Hope that helps!

I guess you could use any white paint color, huh? My cabinets will be white dove by Ben moore, and there is an enclosed brick porch just off the kitchen I would like to do a german schmear on but was afraid "white" would be to stark. Might give it a try on some spare bricks first. Thanks for the video.

Did you put the Drydex in the grout lines around the faux brick and then paint? It looks thick in the grout lines. I purchased rather pricey faux panels for a fireplace but they look to yellowy for the grayish white room they were installed in. The manufacturer told me I will void the warranty if I alter the panels which are a high-density polyurethane. Trying to come up with a solution without damaging the faux panels. Prefer this look over the panel we purchased. I wish I could send you a pic for some advice. Thanks. Show less

We just renovated our kitchen. We did vanilla glaze cabinetry that has a very thin black outlines within the moulding. Black granite with ivory/taupe/and a hint of green coloring. Just had the backsplash installed and its a mix of black marble and black glass with brass reflecting thin random lines in a herringbone pattern. We did a large farmhouse brushed gold hammered sink and I LOVE IT! We added plenty of lighting to offset the black (dimmers, too) . Sounds confusing, but looks awesome together. The tile runs to the ceiling behind the sink and oven.
