Still a paradise compared to overpopulated countries in East Asia and India. Australia is a developed first world country and you need a good job to survive here. Migrants from India and Asia need to realise this before they choose to come here.

great video, as someone that moved here I can confirm the content. the worst part of Aus in Aug 2024 is that there is no way you will be able to buy a house here. we will be renting forever (and I am a professional engineer). very poor government policies have been skewed towards property investors since early 2000s and there is no turning this boat. them property investors are too greedy..

I don't think difficulty making friends is due to ethnicity - I think most Australians typically stay friends with those they went to school with, or shared young adulthood with, who still live in the same geography, and that's about it. Since leaving school I have moved from Melbourne to Brisbane and now to Perth - with each move I have integrated with fewer and fewer people. Not for lack of wanting, but I think as a parallel, as people get older they spend less and less effort tying to make new friends. I also think social media has played a huge role in redefining community. When I was growing up we basically lived outside, at friends, or adventuring until we had to be home for dinner. Nowadays, the streets are empty of kids - life is lived via a device and virtual friendship circles.

I migrated to Australia (Perth) in 1989 and found it to be backward, isolated and incredibly lonely. The suburbs were squeaky clean, utterly soulless and completely devoid of life. In 2010 I went to live in Japan, which is way more advanced in so many ways. When I went back to Australia in 2014, WA felt like a Police State. I left again in 2015 and will never go back. The cost of living was just insane and the rules and regulations just ridiculous. I now live in SE Asia.

I am just sick of people coming into this country that my grandparents and great grandparents fought and died protecting , mostly on some sort of study or protection visa, complaining about everything under the sun and expecting us to change it for them. The difference between most of them and you is that after complaining about everything, you have chosen to leave…. And that’s a good thing right? ….everyone is now happy.

This is true and 90% of Australians I met were racists compared to other countries in the world, if you look for career growth they hardly give opportunities for other nationalities, mostly they hire whites even though you have more experience or qualifications unfortunately. It’s time to be more realistic and respectful of diversity in the community.

I came to Brisbane in 1996 for studies, went back home and came back in 2010 to live in Perth. I dont think so I will go back again. I love the ocean and live just 15mts drive to some best beaches in Australia. I can always go back home for holidays, just 5 hours away. Australian cities are always rated as most liveable cities. Looking at whats happening around the world at the moment I would rather stay here and enjoy this beautiful country rather than judging it. Just my opinion.....

I am so glad that you have found a way to live for yourselves. At around 9.30 ...... no you don't Alas, I see you as people who are selfish and were not willing to become "Aussies".... no, living here for 15 years DOES NOT make you an Aussie. THAT my dear friends comes from the heart. And in my eyes, in your cases .... that is sadly lacking. But I am glad you decided to move because that will allow 3 different people to come here and "become Aussies" I know that this will sound racist, but ...meh ..... please, after your "gap year" find somewhere to live that allows your heart to merge with that country. And for the hearts of people in that country to merge with you. Regretably, for me, my heart could not merge with people who happily bag out Australia but then, throw a sprinkling of suger with descriptions of nice things from here Enjoy the rest of your lives .... in countries that will probably become less and less pleasant in which to live .... with less social benefits ..... and maybe strict religious standards ...... and much less safe since you won't have a big moat around it An no, actually. I desperately try NOT to be racist as my circle of friends takes in people from many cultures ..... from asian, to both eastern and western european, to african countries and also first nation people here in Australia (my heritage line is from GB) It's not the culture or the colour of the skin that I look at (after all, we all bleed red blood), it's something much deeper that I use my gut feelings to decide. And unfortunately, my gut feeling give me a belly ache when I watch this video. But I repeat, I am glad that YOU have found happiness away from Australia and I'm glad that this opens the door for others who might find Australia more to their liking. - Maybe a Russian family (wife is a psychologist, husband is a sniper in their forces) that I know, but that will have to be after Putin's war has been lost by him

good on ya guys to do Asia for a while, especially when Aus has been a great platform to propel that for you. I have been here 34 years, enjoy it and wouldn't trade this with anywhere. Sydney is home. But having said that all your points are valid and other Indians here would have had similar experiences but it takes 2 to tango and integration is not easy. Maybe would have been heaps better for your daughter too to embrace the Australian way...but no sweat....at the end of the day it boils down to 3 things - 1) people 2) values 3) what u want out of life....and paying 50% fucking taxes is certainly hard...that needs properties, businesses and a white tax guy :)

Australia's cost of living is over the roof. It's just work work and pay the bills, thats it. We pay such a high tax and someone sitting and eating at home takes away our tax money through centrelink. And medicare is absolutely not free, have to pay medical levy plus surcharge. And as you step out of house there are so many rules but very weak rules for youth crime which is getting dangerous over the time. However, overall, Australia is a great country.

Agree with most of your points. 1:39 is especially true- the ethnic/racial division is so bizarre and in huge contrast with the 'multicultural' society they boast about constantly. It's a bunch of neighbourhoods based on ethnic backgrounds, a patchwork of people living parallel lives, with big discrepancies in even the quality of food, infrastructure, healthcare based on ethnicity, or perceived ethnicity. About 100 years behind the US.
