I love critically harsh reviews of old games like these, because these kinds of games usually mean nostalgia for a lot of people, so it's nice to have a review that more accurately portrays what we should expect

The original jsr is a bit painful, and jsrf is a HUGE improvement. But the original feels very rewarding when you learn how to play and master the maps, the grafitti system is also more grounded and makes you feel more like you're drawing the artpiece, plus you can pick different characters if you dont like doing motions on another one. Some players also complain about the lack of resistance the sequel has and prefer the arcade nature of the go. Jsrf is my favorite, but I respect both. Bomb rush cyberpunk is the best of both worlds. Great video, I just wanted to add this.

I'm pretty sure that the common consensus is that the original JSR isn't that great of a game, and that jsrf is better in every way. 98% of why people love the original het set radio is for it's soundtrack, the other 2 percent is for the graphics, story/style, and characters. The only people who are saying that the actual game is great are people that haven't actually played it in 20 years. Jsrf, while not perfect, is so much of a better game that it's not even funny. While I prefer the soundtrack of the first game, the soundtrack in jsrf is still amazing and fits the edgier, more futuristic vibe the game is going for. Unfortunately, jsrf is stuck on the og Xbox and isn't even backwards compatible, so pretty much no one can play it. I still feel lucky that my Xbox from when I was a kid still works and that I was able to find a copy of it at a decently low price

Honestly while it hurts seeing you FLAME a game from my child, most of the critisicms and complaints about the game are valid, dosn't suprise me that you didn't enjoy the game that much, while I personally didn't mind the wonky controls, the vibes and the atomsphere were alway the main highlight of the series, its a shame we don't see more games made in this style and asthetic, thankfully we do have a couple like Hi Fi rush and bomb rush cyberfunk so there is that. Something to note about why jet set radio future isn't talked about more is that it ONLY released on the original XBOX, the original has been released on multiple platforms simply making it the more accesible game. Currently I have a copy of jet set radio future in my collection but playing it on xbox 360 the game is REALLY laggy, one day it would be nice to play it on original hardware but until then emulation is the only way I can enjoy Overall great video and don't sweat the time it took man, at least you got it out. Another fantastic video, same great attention to detail, and an exciting teaser for the next video. You take all the time you need my guy. It's KZbin, not a broadcasting corporation. The only deadlines are the ones you set for yourself. I'd rather you take extra time for yourself between uploads if it means you're still around to upload. I could listen to people praise this game all day lol, I rediscovered it this year after being initially unimpressed on release, and now I find that it's extremely underrated. There's a real argument to be made that it's the best game in the series. It's definitely the biggest, the most content and feature heavy. Also the hardest, in my opinion, but for all the right reasons. Its sick goals are clearly made for and respectful of longtime players, it's surprising how well designed it all is. Like I'd personally rather not be climbing around or doing rigger goals, but if the game is going to ask me to do those things, the least it could do is have the goals tied to those mechanics be well designed and challenging, and pretty much everything here is exactly that. Photo mechanics can get messy and I'm convinced they would be better if you weren't forced to manually snap your own photos, but some of the best goals in the game are designed around these photo mechanics so some messy handling is forgiveable. Lack of free skate for the pro skater characters is a huge missing feature, I would have rather had that than what I consider to be a mostly useless, poorly implemented (yet feature heavy) video editor. I don't agree with every decision here but it's easily the best in the series since Underground and arguably the best in the series period. The design and execution are there, I think people would have been more forgiving if it had the snappier physics of the PS2 titles, but I personally don't mind the reduced speeds that much since this was going for something a little more grounded. The graphics are way overhated. I get it, it's not colorful like the PS2 games, people find it too gray, but it's going for realism and if you compare the visuals to the reference photos that were taken during development they're like 95% accurate in terms of color tone and just how they generally look. They nailed exactly the look they were going for and for 2007 the visuals here can be really nice, especially on 360. It's definitely a better game than P8, and I always really liked P8. The DS version is like a long lost classic or something, it's surprisingly great. Can't believe how great these games actually were. I guarantee their failure is directly tied to EA Skate. I was really dismissive of Proving Ground on release just because of that game. Proving Ground just wasn't what I was looking for at the time of its release. Now that time has passed and we've had plenty of Skate sequels and some sim heavy alternatives, my appetite for realistic skate games has been satisfied, and Proving Ground was exactly what I needed to reconnect with a series I thought I had completely played to death. Deserves its 10/10 rating, it was as great as a Tony Hawk's game in this engine was ever going to get.

There is a MAJOR SECRET IN THIS GAME!. When a player starts a new profile/game. Go into settings. Change swap Grabs for Shifty option. This make the right stick move the board freely. You must use the LT with the right stick to grad. It is the only way to play……ok for the SECRET! After the first MT challenge that opens up the NEXT mountain is won the riders STANCE CHANGES to have more STYLE while buttering and board sliding. Before the arms are held out looking like the rider is trying to balance. Now the rider looks over the shoulder and has a pro slide style. No one ever had this online. I helped other discover this secret riding style change. Do it and see!

Gotta be honest, while the games themselves are of varrying quality, I really like the story cantinuity between the two Sonic Adventure games, Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog. The series honestly did have a decent amount of world building and story connections. I find that a lot more interesting than the more one off's of more modern Sonic games. As for this game itself though, gotta be honest, I kinda hate it, but its not because they didn't put any effort into it. Kind of the opposite in fact, I feel like its really overdesigned for a 3D platformer.

It's a perfect remaster despite some criticisms. 1. I was disappointed with the Create-A-Skater. Lots of options are missing like glasses, wrist accessories, different ways of wearing hats (seriously how do we not have a single backwards cap?) and overall lacking in any kind of "whacky" customization we've known from THUG2. 2. Wallrides taking priority over grinds (this is especially frustrating for rails that are next to a wall). There's this downhill rail in the beginning of Mall where the S is located at. I even wait until my Skater is on the rail and he still wallrides when I hit the grind button. 3. I think the game could have done with more special tricks. A lot of tricks were cut from the original games for no reason. 4. I like the additions of challenges. However, I think the challenges where you have to do 100k flips, grabs, grinds, lips and manuals are way too excessive (and these only count if you land them, btw). And this is just a minor nitpick and I get that they are trying to get people to use their Create-A-Park but why do we need challenges for it? Literally just unecessary tutorial tier challenges. 5. This is only an issue on the Steam version of the game but some clothing items like Kareem's white pants are bugged. When you equip them, they don't show. It also lacks the free Vans clothing they added in an update and 2 cosmetic DLC's from the EPIC version. Regardless of all these issues, this is still an S tier Tony Hawk game for somebody like me who heavily prefers the classic career modes from 1, 2 and 3.
