Just one thing. Larry Underwood was not "drug-addicted". Yes in the book he owed a lot of money to drug dealers but that was because of a wild party he threw. Not because he was an addict. Drugs weren't even mentioned in the miniseries

The novel has Larry taking methamphetamines ("reds") to stay awake during his x-country drive. Soon after arriving at his mother's home he crashes and doesn't resurface for almost 18 hours.

One missed opportunity of the show was to give the Greenbush twins (or one of them) some acting lessons. They flat-out could not act, could not handle dialogue, looked at the camera, etc. In the later seasons when Carrie could have been featured in some episodes. Instead, they brough in Missy Francis. Carrie was still used only as a prop in most scenes.
