The CEO of NSR recently said that on plastic track the front tires could be square. Lift them right off the track and rely on the triangle 🔺️. Wood track needs perfect front end. I like rock hard slippery tires! What's your take......

@@stevesweeney7892 as mentioned it comes down to personal preference!!!! I prefer to have the front tires down, on plastic track and wood track! Personal preference!!!!!!!

As everyone who watches my stuff knows, I focus on HO slots. I discovered that coating the front tyres with black nail polish, then sanding smooth the harden them up, was good for a 0.2 second faster lap time on a 4.5 second lap. Something I didn't think would be an improvement on hard/no grip/no friction front tyres was foam tyres. But to my amazement I found the compliance of the foam tyre made a better handling chassis, while still being lower traction. IMO the worst performing tyre is silicone, because they have very little compliance, and high grip levels to go with it. Both things are undesirable in a slot car front tyre.

Great video! I started with nail polish, then switched to CA glue for better hardness. With CA glue I was coating the tire and removing the excess by using a Dremel inside a plastic cup. I like your process of truing the CA glue out better. I will give it a try on my next set of front tire preparation. Thanks for the awesome content!

I think a lot of people are surprised how good Scalextric run out the box. Once you then modify them they are fairly quick cars!

We use tungsten a bit like plasticine but got to keep it moist or it goes crumbly can be reconstituted with water👍🦊🤪
