One thing I can’t seem to figure out is when active flipping how long should I let the order sit before I consider it lost? 5 minutes? 15?
@Scapenomics
@Scapenomics 4 күн бұрын
It depends on the item. I’d let a high volume item sit for 10 minutes before adjusting. For lower volume, i’d probably wait about 20 mins!

just saying but linking sites that cost to use isnt good. if ppl actually had the money, they wouldnt be watching this video the begin with as they would instead just buy money or membership with irl cash. hate saying it but video is kinda useless without working good links that actually can be used without a cost. otherwise ppl are better off putting their irl money into bonds to get money instead of buying a service that only helps u make money over time...

If only irl day trading was this easy
@kukuc96
@kukuc96 Ай бұрын
On paper, the technique is workable IRL too. I would be very surprised if High Frequency Trading firms don't do this. The problem is that with so many more participants, you won't find spreads in the multiple %, like you can in Runescape. A more typical spread on an IRL equity is like 0.1% or less. So the margin is very thin, and an unwanted movement of 1-2% (which is fairly common in a day) is 10-20x your margin, which can very quickly wipe out any gains. The adamant arrow example especially. You will never find an 18% spread on a real equity, unless it's extremely illiquid, at which point you can't turn over much before you moved the market yourself.

Im using an alt to flip. Not actively playing on it, I just have it to be able to pay splits and receive splits for raids on my Ironman. There is much more into flipping than you show here. All your doing is look for the lowest price the past day and the highest price and hope it will be the same next day? I highly doubt your making 2% a day with only that strategy. Its almost impossible, especially with these high amount-traded items. Once it fluctuates a bit from the day before it fks you over one way or the other (either not buying, not selling, selling to cheap, or buying to expensive). Your overlooking the basic concept of flipping. Its all about supply and demand and there is definitely more to it to predict prices or influence prices/prevent it from crashing. Also a very interesting thing in this game to note, is that most players play in the evening. (I know its a world wide game, but by far most players are from either America or Europe, which is only 4-7h difference) They do team pvm stuff. This means most high buys to certain pvm items will be in the evening, and most low sells will be in the morning. Especially in the weekends/after the weekends there are some big margins to be made. Like I said, supply and demand. There is loads of demand in the weekend/evening, and loads of supply in the morning/after the weekend for these certain items. I personally only flip high value items with medium-low supply and demand. Read the situation and see whats most likely going to happen. Ofcourse sometimes it goes wrong, but went from 850m to 1.3b in 3 weeks with this method so far. (21 days, 450m, on average 21m/day, which is also only 2.5% per day, but the more money you have, the more difficult it is to reach a high win percentage.) The thing is with medium-low items that you can influence the market yourself. If you just put 10 offers in there for a certain price, you are 90% sure that the price wont crash as their wont be a lower sell than your offers for a long time. Many many more things like this that can give you a bigger margin in items you say are high risk, but if you pay attention to certain things and use certain tricks its not all that risky and way more profitable.

Tip: remember that you will probably make a bad trade every 1 in 20 or even 1 in 10 times. Keep that in mind and dont feel too bad. Ask yourself what went wrong and try to do better next time. You’ll learn the market over time and make less mistakes. Companies take a few % profit and put it on the side for these kinds of losses. So we should do the same! Just take the loss into your calculations (beforehand) and dont risk too much in 1 trade ^^ Also: really write down good items! Cant remember 100+ items well 😅

I bought bonds to help boost my early game progression, mid-late game its worth just grinding since you can make 15m by killing vorkath/muspah for 4-5 hours of killing.

23:55 - Another tip for anyone watching... to avoid selling an item for too low, I sometimes will split the item stack in parts. So for the blood runes here, you can split the 10k into 4 lots of 2.5k. And list 2.5k at 233, another 2.5k for 234, another one for 235, and the last one for 236. If the 233 instasell, you may slowly sell the 234 or sometimes you get lucky and instasell both the 233 and 234 and then slowly sell the 235 ones. Whichever one is selling the slowest, take back the 2.5k listed at 236 and put them up for 235 or whatever the price is that are selling slowly. I do a similar thing when buying too. I may put in an offer for 2.5k at 298, 2.5k at 299, 2.5k at 300 and another 2.5k at 301. If any of them start buying immediately I'll quickly cancel it if I can. If the second to highest ones start buying relatively quickly, I may cancel them and just put in the offer for the slightly lower one. And slowly buy all of them at that price if that makes sense. So similar thing as the first paragraph but for when buying them for a lower price. The difficulty doing this is you may get lost with all the different numbers.
