So I actually have almost the same exact setup, but the issue I have is the eye relief. I can't extend the stock at all and still see through the optic. Maybe it's a me issue?
@freedomfrontier10 күн бұрын
Hmm. The 2.5 has a pretty generous eyebox. Perhaps try playing with the rear focus ring and making sure you’re leaning into the rifle well enough?

I cannot believe you butchered this rifle by grinding down the rear sight base. Holy cow. All you had to do is get taller scope rings.

I am super curious how you mounted your prism sight so nice and low to the carry handle and far back like that. How did you accomplish the mount process itself? Just a acog thumb screw? A carry handle rail mount as well or no?
@freedomfrontier2 ай бұрын
Yep just an ACOG thumb screw. The carry handle is rail mounted. Not a purely “traditional” setup but I still like it.

Red Dot on fixed A2 or A1 makes sense... Red Dot on detachable Carry handle doesn't. Too much weight for no reason. I would ditch the CH. Your just keeping it for looks. It's not practical.
@freedomfrontier3 ай бұрын
CH isn’t too heavy. Can still use back up irons.
@cliffordrandell7353 ай бұрын
@@freedomfrontier It's your gun so run it how you like. But I don't understand what advantage this setup has over directly attaching the sight to the flat top upper and using a BUIS. LESS points of attachments to loosen. Much less weight from the big steel attachment screws and A2 sight apparatus on that CH. AND a better overbore height of the optic. There is a video of a guy shooting a red dot attached to an A2 upper and it's shaking like crazy. The flat top helps reduce the movement greatly. I could see attaching an optic to an A1 or A2 upper if you were stuck with that style upper. But You have a perfectly good flat top upper on that rifle . I don't understand buying a Carry handle on purpose and going that direction just adding unnecessary weight and complexity. Unless you were doing it solely for looks, to emulate a retro style rifle? Which is fine. It's your money'Merica :)

I'm glad somebody did a video like this. I've had my 308 and fime group x39 rifles for years and still learned a thing or two from this. Got the fime group rifle the day the ban fell. I'd just seen it in a shop the day before and saw the news the next day. Took off work and drove 4hrs back to get it at MSRP. I knew the value in doing that after selling my saiga rifle before those got banned.

How much recoil is added to the gun with that new brake compared to its original brake? This is going to be my ak and I know this is the only flaw. I’m concerned about accurate follow ups but yes that brake is bright.
@freedomfrontier7 ай бұрын
It’s pretty noticeable unfortunately. It’s certainly still functional and not ridiculous. If I can swap out the piston for an adjustable K&N I think it’d be about as good as you can get for a muzzle device.

I am about to put a Sig Romeo 7 on top of my m4 with a carry handle, any suggestions on a good zero distance?
@freedomfrontier7 ай бұрын
I’m a fan of the 200 yard zero. That means a slight holdover as the bullet leaves the barrel and is coming up for point blank to a 50 yd zero impact, requires you to aim a few inches high out to 200 where the bullet comes back down again and intersects your reticle. Then you elevate again for further after that. If that makes sense. . .

Don’t forget an old m7 bayonet to complete the vibe.
