That used to be my second choice after the black spinnerbait in the dark but i can cast the whopper plopper so much farther that I use that usually. I will have to try my buzzbaits again real soon though. Thanks.

Great. I looked at the map of where they sprayed (next video) and it was the entire lake except the middle. Just when I felt the lake was getting good. Like Austin was 10 years ago and the killer the weeds and added aerators and it’s been average since.

@geezerbassin2567 what baits were you using? Headed there in a few days and have never been to successful. Saw top water in the morning, Christie cray and a fluke later morning? Found better luck on the bottom with a Tokyo rig or in the shallows? Thank you!!!!

Nice work man everyone caught them really really good 33 dang fish is a heck of day I don’t care how big or small they are. I been doing really good at eagle lake lately. Caught just under a 5lb on the vid u seen. went back yesterday lost a big one at the kayak (comprable size as the one on video) got one over 3lbs a few smalls and a gigantic crappie that got me eligible for a master angler badge. I submitted it last night I hope I get one.

Thanks! It was a fun trip with so many bass caught. I went to Eagle this week too but it was tough for me. You should get a badge as long as you took a picture of the fish on a good measuring board. Congrats on that. It's got some good bass in it and you'll probably tie into a muskie before too long.

Always good to avoid the skunk. Yes, they did treat the lake a few weeks ago. It seemed like the weeds weren’t as thick as usual at the far end where I tried.

I fished morrow that same day I think and killed it for about two hours. All pike of course. Love the content man, been catching more since I started watching. Hopefully I’ll run into ya out there some time!

Yes, you can’t beat making memories with family. I’ve been stuck with on the lake before and luckily always got helped by someone so can’t leave someone else stranded.

Hey bud that reel handle is called a vss handle I like them too as well 13 fishing makes beautiful rod's very well balanced. I use to use the omen black 3s . Very light great sensitivity, well balanced you definitely picked a fantastic rod company. They seem to really put a lot of thought into building rod's. There are some big smallies in there. Try a deep crankbait or slow roll a swimbait deep.

I haven't tried deep cranking but I have tried the swimbait some. Seems like they would crush the topwater over all the flats though. But, it is just good to know there are some in there I can try for.

freakin slab!!! thats dang eatin size there 14" very nice. man we ended up just going to la feere lake it was great though we had the whole lake to ourselves though caught a few chunky around 15-16" chunks but no Becky's or Gina's. i think 3 lakes is next week

@@geezersbassin2567 the grass is pretty thick around the ramp at La feere but good other than that just a heads up. Get out there and try it I got sone decent fish from both coldbrook too just the pike in coldbrook gets annoying sometimes if ur targeting bass. I’ll keep u posted with 3 lakes. The guy I’m going with said he got several over 4-5lbs last year. Taking the kayaks

letsss goo 19+ or bust. u know i highly favor the strike king stuff i was at sportsman warehouse for a sec yesterday before i realized i may as well just go to D&R. which i did and get a few sexy dogs and JRs in the bone and black lab color and a 110 size whopper plopper, powder (white) color. that place is certainly very close to paradise and great knowledgeable younger staff, love it. some nice fish there bro boat flipping 18' is whats up man thats how u do the dang thing.

D and R staff gives great info if you just ask someone. I like your lure choices. I used the sexy dawg jr on my last two trips. Sometimes I risk it and flip the big ones too. Especially when using braid.

Nice fish, I live on Barton and have fished Barton and portage lk. Since the early 80’s and have caught some big ones in both lakes. Have you tried tub, black and Howard lakes connected to Barton for bass?👍

I went back to coldbrook today and tore them up man. nothing big like yesterday but got 2 over 16 (one almost 17) and several smalls probably sub 13” I did not measure the smalls. All on the worm and a few on the swim jig. Tried the jerk bait but the pike nailed it and I put it down. I had enough replacing treble hooks. Had to stay away at the moment with the fishing decent. I meet a guy buying a reel the other day and we are gonna hit Kalamazoo this weekend. I’m not sure where yet. Excited to have been able to get som fishing in and catch a couple it for sure feels good. Sorry for the long winded comment. If u happen to see a red camo kayak with a red crate and orange pole toot your horn brother, I’ll definitely say hello.

@@geezersbassin2567 yes sir u for sure need to try to hit coldbrook for sure. just the pike and the jerkbaits are the only drawback its hard to fish it without them just smoking the dog poop out of them and straightening the trebles and whatnot. i know your throwing a jerkbait alot i need to get better with them myself so just a heads up there. most of my damage is on a powerworm tequila sunrise color. texas rigged and just dragging it through the weeds, or along the weed line parallel. its oldtown red and black like camo scheme orange fishing pole i got several but the orange sticks out pretty good

Bro I got a giant out of coldbrook yesterday evening 19 and 3/4 “ with a dang fat ole belly it was a dang tank! I got sone pictures. My girl is gonna get me a nice scale to weigh for a late b day gift. The Biggs are lurking. Caught several other smaller bass. And a big dogfish, that thing fought like crazy. Caught them on the tequila sunrise power worm, red eye shad, green and white chatterbait with green trailer

That's awesome! Nice job finding a giant there. Dogfish are fun to hook at fight but that's where the fun ends. In the boat they are about as bad as pike to me. I've still been finding a couple good fish on most of my trips so they are lurking like you said.

It’s wild we don’t get fish like that in bama they got chain pickler which is basically a pike. But never seen a dogfish in person till yesterday. I appreciate you sharing those swimbaits! I typically throw them with a 6th sense line thru swimbait head or either a 5/0 or 6/0 screw lock swimbait hook. Let me know when you need some more or if you want any in different colors as those were just what I had in the truck at the time.

I had been using them since January but pike have taken my last one. I will be buying a couple more soon and will use them all year for sure. It seems like a better than average jerkbait to me. I have not tried the Stunna yet but have considered it a few times.

We lost more than we should have but I'm not sure if it was because the fish weren't biting it good or if we were using the wrong hooks. But you're right, that's just fishing. Keeps it challenging. I hope you get out soon and get a good boat when the time comes.
