The classical guitar world truly misses Bob Ruck. He was a great guitar maker and an interesting human being.

I have a Rubio of about the same vintage, label says 1970. I went to Duns Tew and met him. He asked me if I had played one of his guitars and I said no, and he said "that's a good test of a guitar maker" and he showed me a guitar that was in for repair. He whipped off the 3 bass strings and replaced them and I played a Bach prelude on it. I said "it has a beautiful singing voice". He was very pleased and got out a stack of rosewood and said "pick a back and sides". I elected not to wait for a guitar personally made by him (and not to pay the premium) and the guitar was made by Paul Fischer. When I went to pick it up, Rubio told me they had done something experimental and brought one of the bass side struts up under the central bar and they thought it had a very strong bass for a new guitar. He said his guitars were mostly built with soundboards from the 1960s but that they had used a piece of 1952 pine for my guitar. I am very glad to have had that chance to meet Rubio and I have treasured that guitar for over 50 years. I still play a bit every day. The guitar has a noble, rather classical sound and doesn't sound so much like a Spanish guitar. Anyone interested in how it sounded in 1980 can hear it if they click on my profile. A few years ago it was water damaged and Peter Barton did an excellent repair.

This is amazing, after the description, one even wonders: is this even the original guitar? The recording quality isn’t fantastic Either, yet, the guitar sounds truly wonderful.

not bad.... Great Guitar.... Unlike the Molina you sold me in 2009 when my Guitar was damaged .... We spoke many times on the phone and still you sold me an heavy, laminated Guitar that had a painted fingerboard: You said that it was all solid woods :: i was heartbroken. My Gransfather gave me money for the Guitar.... You are a robber and that will forever be my experience of you. I hope you are honest in your dealings now :: peace be upon you //^\\

I've had a 1981 RE Brune guitar since 1986. With pre-no-no Brazilian Rosewood. Great tone, response, flexibility, volume--all in spades! Thank you for your skill, and your playing.

Thank you for the clarification Mr Escudero. I appreciate your comments. Your father who I held in utmost esteem was the only flamenco artist I actually took a lesson with. He was most gracious and knowledgeable. I’m happy to have this clarification from you, thank you for commenting.

Thank you for sharing with all this Santos and for remembering my father.

Mr. Brune, the only Santos my father Mario Escudero owned is still in the family. I confirm to you, therefore, that any legend which states that the specific 1936 Santos you are playing in your video belonged to my father is just that; a legend. Unfortunately, such legends are far too common, which aim to associate certain instruments to my father, Sabicas or other well known guitarists without providing proof of such provenance. Caveat emptor.

Hello marshal what type of tuners model are you using for this guitar, that accepts nylon and steel? Thanks!

Generally either type of machine head will accept either type of string material. This particular instrument has Waverlys installed.
