For the warmups on the HBCU side, M100’s Nadia’s Theme is just 🤌. The dynamic contrast that is displayed and it all just ends with that big hit with mellos coming in absolutely creasing is amazing. It really gives DCI.

DCI KZbinr here, I’ve stood in front of countless DCI hornlines, both as a member and as a fan. BUT There is nothing like standing in front of a HBCU hornline…those bands do something that is just different. Those ripping mellos, blasting sousas, and screaming trumpets… INSANE.

Honestly my brother, The Southern University's HUMAN JUKEBOX aka #GOAT 🐐 💙💛 🏆💪🏾 didn't play PERIOD!!! Dr. Isaac Greggs and his staff created a blueprint decades ahead of other bands that have adopted and profected their style and sound in today's social media age. Rest in power Doc and Mr. Knighten! 🙏🏽 Dr. Lawrence Jackson's brilliance along with his staff, expanded the Jukebox and continued their dominance! The young Jedi Knights, Haymer, Simmons, and Dr. Taylor (Big 3) hit the ground running with their dominance until Haymer and Simmons departure--what you young bandheads now call "Old Southern" 😅 youngsters today🤦🏾‍♂️but SU is still SU under Dr. Taylor, Kenneth Collins, and Cedric Todd! We just need more upper & lower brass like in 2014 to '19!!!

There are no, and I do mean NO drum majors that put more work on the field of 100 yards than the Horsemen of Bethune Cookman. 1. Drum major entrance. 2. Conduct within drill. 3. Conduct dance girl music. 4. Preform within concert music. At times with 14k dancers. 5. Dance full out no break dance routines. What are your doing on field?

@@metric_dead8570Not true. HBCU AND B1G Show style is the most common and popular type of band. DCI corps style is a close second, with BOA corps style being third. This is based off of not only marching all 3 styles and currently being in the M100 but also the attendance counts. HBCU band events have the highest attendance counts of any style of band, followed by DCI, then B1G, then BOA, the Indoor and whatnot.

I remember my freshman year (1993) at FAMU when Jukebox came to FAMU. the 5th was intense. I was in the M100 and we played every song in our book and the Jukebox was still going after we ran out of songs. It was my first time seeing The Human Jukebox in person and I was literally blown away (pun intended). Old school Southern was the unstoppable.
