Getting that 4.000 watch hours is a real killer. I was fortunate enough to have a video blow up massively and push me well over the subs and watch hours threshold. However, it was a complete outlier. I imagine that when a year is up I will probably drop back below the limit and get monetized. We shall see. And yes ... Go genXers!

I’m just starting to get serious about creating. But my quality isn’t up to the what others do. Having been a photographer for 20+ years I’m starting to share what I do. My problem is I’m trying to create while being very sick and awaiting cancer results. It’s hard to be seriously ill and feeling up to creating . But it helps to take mind off things .. but would love to gain a few subscribers but I’m currently stuck on just 49 subs ! And those that have subscribed are not that active! How can I change what’s happening !

i had almost the same thing i quit my doctor job to chase my dream which is creating videos , my wife and parents they were shocked about my decision , they were kinda supportive in a conservative way , however i started a channel and i hit 100k subs in 6 months but when i reflected on my youtube journey i didnt like it coz i was not authentic , i was just sitting and speaking very formal with fast pace edited videos , it worked but i wasnt happy inside of me , coz that was not the reason i left medicine for , so i quit that channel and start a new one , the one im writing from now , i decided to be 100000% me , natural , authentic , minimal editing and share whatever i like about my journey doing the job i like , of course the growth is very slow but it worth it , so as you mentioned the only way to make it os to be authentic unfiltered

Congratulations!🎉 I have a question…. Your video channel “niche” is “starting a KZbin channel from scratch”, and all of the “newbies” are watching your videos for advice and words of wisdom to help get us started. My niche is gardening….just me gardening…flowers and a few vegetables. I realize that my niche encompasses fewer people than the niche of all the people who want to start a new KZbin channel. I love gardening, love being outside, love watching things grow, all of it! It’s really my passion! With me being 51 years old, I decided it’s now or never. So I started. I barely knew how to get a video from my photo library to the KZbin app. But, I’m learning every day! The hardest part for me is looking at and talking to my phone with no physical audience. It feels weird to me. I’ve learned how to add a thumbnail, endcards, I use descriptive “trending” words in my title pertaining to my gardening video, but I’m not getting much help from the KZbin algorithm I don’t think. The videos that have done the best are the ones that Ives shared to Facebook where my family and friends watch it, and most of those folks aren’t KZbin watchers and don’t have KZbin accounts so therefore won’t be subscribing and liking, or leaving comments, etc. I’ve posted 20 videos in 4-5 weeks. I have 86 subscribers. And it’s just sitting there. What do I need to do?

I'm a 42 yr old mother of two littles, 6 and 2, who actually started a channel back in 2020, but havent posted for the past 18months due to some crazy life changes. I really want to get back to it and go all-in but I'm struggling with that first video. Part of me wants to just start over with no explanation, but i also want to be respectful of the 397 people who have been with me and let them know where Ive been. This single conundrum is keeping me stuck. Any advice would be super-appreciated. Also. As another older mother of littles, what does your workflow look like? It seems impossible to find anyone who talks about this.

Well, today was the day for me - and you were the person to deliver the message that I needed to hear. I have been wanting to start a KZbin channel for many years, watched waaay too many videos, then put the idea on the back burner and the years passed. I've seriously committed to my channel 3 weeks ago. i am up 50 subscribers in that time. mine is a faceless channel concentrating on wildlife and nature. i am slowly teaching myself editing. I have some other ideas of thins i want to try and incorporate. but it is really great to watch videos like yours that are very encouraging for those of us just starting out. good luck.

I used to have old clips on here years ago but since KZbin has really taken off, I haven’t added a thing🤦🏾‍♀️ and there’s so much in my phone. One thing I was thinking of doing to take the leap is go over whatever footage of myself or whatever that I already have in my phone thinking of how those clips can be used for maybe a voiceover, with tips 🤷🏽‍♀️or just in any way period just to get started and build content while recording new content ✨ And don’t let that doubt creep in on u.
