Very nice introduction to the free version of capcut. Good idea doing this on a computer screen rather than a phone screen, so much easier to see. The tutorials that I have watched using phone screens are just too crowded and small, whereas doing this on a desktop or laptop first will then allow me to become familiar and comfortable with the features and tools first, and then I can choose if I want to develop further into working on a phone screen also. Very valuable, thank you!

A great tutorial, Alexa.....very well explained 👍 👌. I use this on my tablet, and edit videos whilst I'm watching tv. I find doing it this way, the editing doesn't feel like a chore 😂. I don't do talking head videos, but for anyone that does and perhaps does batch recording all on the same day, being able to change the background and colour of clothing, can make your video look like it was recorded in another room/location. Plus, it also saves you having to change your dress/sweater/shirt after you've recorded each video 😂. I've stopped using music from capcut, as YT flagged up copyright issues on 2 videos where I'd added capcut music, so I had the hassle of having to change the music in YT studio.

Ok, great thanks for sharing so others can see this comment as well! I never use music in my videos, but great tip thanks!

Very good video. Could you address the copyright rules with the sound effects and audio, particularly with CapCut Pro.

Hi, Alexa! I found through one of Old Me Living Better's video and now I see why you're one of his favorite creators. Thank you for making this video! This software looks very similar to iMovie. Are the shortcuts the same? Is B for cutting and M for adding markers? I'm on the verge of trying CapCut or DaVinci. :)
@AlexaSaarenojaКүн бұрын
Yes the shortcuts are the same for those at least! 🙌

I am also having a problem wit the zoom of the time line. So if I want to zoom in on the major timeline element or base element, then zoom out on the b roll element and reposition the b roll, it messes with my base timeline element.

I don't use it, but it's really great that something like this is available for free!
@AlexaSaarenoja9 күн бұрын
True! I don't use it much either (mostly Imovie gal), but I've had a lot of requests for it so I learned the basics and made this video for others. :)

Thank You so much. Can I ask how you add yourself in the video screen? When you are showing a video you can show a little video of you talking whilst you are showing us things.
@AlexaSaarenojaКүн бұрын
Yes I’m using a screen capture program like loom or screen pal for example.

I've noticed when I add b-roll and then comeback and change the time line, like edit something out, the b-roll does not sync with the location it was put at originally. So now it is in the wrong place and I have to re-edit it. Any way to lock it in place w or synch with where It was originally?

I used capcut before, its easy to use, and i loved it, but i had to learn adobe premiere pro, because capcut has too much vague rules about copyright. And capcut did not feel like a safe choice anymore. Premiere pro is very hard to learn, but i feel i have no choice. I had to redo a lot of videos because songs in capcut are copyrighted, but also some fonts and other extras. Like some effects or stickers. I just want to be sure that everything i make is my own, without any issues.
@AlexaSaarenojaКүн бұрын
Thanks for the tips! I will have to look into this and learn more! That’s not cool.
@MacSaxe8 күн бұрын
I normally use premiere elements on my pc but wanted to try capcut for a change - however any video I wanted to edit, it insisted on uploading to capcut which sometimes took hours - when you used it, the files looked locally stored. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!
@AlexaSaarenojaКүн бұрын
I’m using CapCut on my desktop and my videos are stored on my desktop as well. Sometimes I use video files from my external hard drive which works well but if I render a video I render it to my desktop because it doesn’t like to render to the external drive for some reason.
