I know it might not be a popular opinion but I simply wouldn't push these GPS ankle monitor to the side because it's the felon who is complaining and the bedside mannor of the attorney ect. to most people these devices are added for the comfort of both the victims and knowing where the criminal is at. It's not simply an inconvenience . A mistake on the monitoring could put somebody who is actually trying and staying on a program back into jail for no fault of their own. Most people say whatever they need to be in jail anyway however, the problem is that they will get out of jail at some point, and you do not want to discourage somebody who is actually trying. Again this was just an added bonus to the court system due to probation officers being overwhelmed. This person would've been out on probation with or without that GPS prior to those being introduced or held in jail not being rehibilitated and will be back out. The victims are given a sense of comfort, knowing that they are being monitored, and when these things do not work accurately, it puts victims at risk as well. These companies are paid good portion of money to assure the public that they are working and they are working correctly. it gives false hope to everyone involved. bogging down the court system because of these people are having a hearing based on this device that is not working correctly. It's taking from other hearings that are very important to be had. The company isn't investing the money that they are collecting in better technology which somebody or something should be reviewing how well this company is doing.
