Our 1953 childhood home came with a fully equipped general electric kitchen. We had the sink dishwasher combination but the dishwasher pulled out like a drawer. Start to finish 35 minutes. They don’t make stuff like that anymore damn shame.

This was the worst idea that KitchenAid/Whirlpool could have come up with ... unfortunately. This would have been ideal for a studio apartment. The problem was with the spray action.

It's curious that agitator looks like a flat agitator like the one used in today's LG washing machines. The very rounded low-profile fins do not damage clothing.

My God, the 30s need to look-up the meaning of "aesthetics!" ... That is one hideously ugly machine! ... The user would be better beating their laundry on the rocks at the river!

Here in Wisconsin, Kohler came out with an earlier version of the in-sink dishwasher that can be turned on with the push of a button from the face of the sink. It was loaded similarly like this unit. I think it came out around the 40s from the advertisement

70 years ago, my Dad, a Westinghouse appliance salesman, provided our family with a top-loading dishwasher very similar to this Homeart. I recall a black propeller - similar to that of an outboard motorboat - that drove the 💦action, spinning and skimming the water surface into a spray that cleaned the dishes.

The spray patterns on this are so confusing. Is it an arm or spiral rotating sprayer or something?

That’s pretty gentle on clothes, as to today’s modern washing machines. They don’t have too many 👨 cycles to choose from, if any. The only cycle this machine has is “gentle”, but that’s like 👍 a million for those who want to take care of their clothes. By the way, this machine has lasted probably 80 years, and it’s STILL RUNNING 🏃‍♀️!! Congratulations 🎊 on another 80 years!! Your friend, Jeff.

I really like 👍 the sound of this machine on the agitation cycle. Ya could make an ASMR (sleep video). I didn’t know ya had to put the clothes in here for the “Spin” cycle. At the same time, I thought this was a wringer washer. I’m pretty 😍 sure it came just afterward of them. I’m guessing this machine is a circa 1942. I really like 👍 the name “ABC Spinner”. It appears to do everything in ABC order, although ya have to manually 👨 place the clothes in the spinner after the wash 🧼 cycle is over. Your friend, Jeff.

Oof those corners don't look well covered by the spray. Leave it to Whirlpool to design a dishwasher with arms that don't turn xD

Thanks for showing this! I was looking at Zillow today and saw one of these still installed in a near mint time capsule house in Tucson. I looked up the owner and she died at 102. Built in 1950 it is/was an upscale custom house (for the time). It didn’t have the sink section, just the dishwasher. It was built into wood cabinetry, but the lid, knob, and that vent (?) were all the same. 2040 Waverly St, Tucson AZ
