Hey! Van is looking good! For your trim - although it is expensive it does work well. Search up GTECHNIQ C4 Permanent Trim Restorer. It won’t make the trim super black but it will get out any discolouring. Worked a treat for me. Safe travels!

hey mate, whereabouts is this pesky short pipe located, relative to each of the stairs (east, middle, west)? Thanks
@LewisKayDives16 күн бұрын
The short pipe is the basis of the middle stairs! So if you hop in on the middle stairs and go left, onto the rocks you can follow it right down to the poo pipe. About 10m down there, lots of marine life there at the moment! You should visit for sure!
@Kaaashhhhhhh16 күн бұрын
@ Sorry for my ignorance as someone who’s never been in there. Short pipe = poo pipe = runs from middle to west stairs?
@LewisKayDives15 күн бұрын
No so, the middle stairs are concrete and cover up the short pipe (poo pipe), it is hidden beneath the stairs. It then just faces north and is easily accessible.

Inlet side would be referring to the "seaway dive site" with 3 stairs? That's probably the most popular dive site on the GC? I've seen some recent comments warning about high tide heights and powerful currents at seaway, could you provide some advice for someone new to the seaway and keen to check out the area?
@LewisKayDivesАй бұрын
That’s correct. Yes it is most popular for its easy accessibility and drift diving. Both of these things are valid concerns regarding the seaway. Inexperienced snorkellers and open water divers can find navigating the seaway challenging but there are a few things you can note to make it easier. When you get to the “seaway dive site” for high tide (best time for vis), look out into the water and you’ll see a pole, this pole will have water gushing behind or in front to indicate which way the current is running. From there, use the current to your advantage. If the current is pulling from the ocean into the river channels, walk up to the eastern most stairs and drift down to the middle stairs or vice versa. Once familiar with the seaway you can try heading out across the pipe, using the pipe (when scuba diving) as a shield from the current. If you’re in line with pipe it actually blocks the current allowing you to swim with relative ease, enjoying the marine diversity down there. Hope this helps :)

Great pick up! I am most certain it is not a striped catfish, instead a blacksaddle goatfish school. I realised this after I had already posted the video 🥲

Conditions and visibility can vary a lot. Mainly looking for southerly winds and low wave height. Probably need a few days of southerlies in a row to have ideal conditions, otherwise you might not see much! Best of luck!
