Do you think I'm doing to much volume? My upper day routine is this: 1) standing overhead press(6-10). 2) high-pull (6-10 reps) supersetted with (3) behind the neck press(1-3 reps). 4)weighted pull-up (6-10). 5) pull-overs(6-10) supersetted with (6)neutral grip pull downs (1-3). 7) Dips with added weight (6-10). 8) Flyes (6-10) supersetted with(9) incline press (1-3). 10) Bicep curls (6-10). 11) Tri ext.(6-10). So yes 11 sets. These are all 1 set to failure sometimes sone statics and negative failure. I train every 4th day. I have been making progress.

Once every 3-5 days. It used to be on the 4-5 side, but since splitting up back & arms into a back day and an arm day, it's in the 3-4 range.

The other day i did my tricep work. My last workout I did 75lbs for 11 reps. The following arm workout everything went up. Except for the triceps. I figured I could do 80lbs for at least 6,7 reps. I couldn't even move it! I couldn't move 75lbs either. I dropped the weight to 60lbs and did 15 reps to failure. Do you think I still stimulated growth or dug a bigger whole in recovery? What threw me off was that everything else went up. Maybe i just ran out of energy.
@fizeekfriday8 күн бұрын
It would be interesting to hear what Billy has to say, but I've been there. I would surmise that it has something to do with everything increasing at the same time and you were too fatigued by the time it came around to triceps. Maybe you're doing too many exercises for your frequency. You could also try doing a warm-up set or maybe shuffle triceps to the front every second arm workout.

Not saying you're wrong by an means but... I find it best to have the cable raised so the handle is level with my junk. I also do the movement from behind rather than in front as I feel it biases the medial more effectively and secondarily the posterior. Would like to hear your thoughts.

I had a weak tricep workout the other day. All of my other lifts done on this day i was stronger. I went for my tricep work and they were weak. Last time I did 100lb for 11 reps, i figured I'd go up 5 lbs. I put 105lbs and i could barely get 2 reps. Probably should of just skipped them. Instead i went down to 80lbs and did 13 reps til failure of course. Which got me thinking. Even though its lighter does the fact that i went to failure still fatigue all of the muscle fibers therefore still stimulate muscle growth? What do you think?

Jeff nipperd says you should put it on 5 so not bottom but like hand level for lateral raises
@PEEERRRR18 күн бұрын
For this variation it works better at the bottom. If you try it both ways holding the machine to stabilize you'll feel it rip you down vs jeff's way which pulls you slightly to the side. Jeffs method, perfect biomechanics to hit the shoulder but, forgets gravity is down not sideways. Mr Horse's method the tension is really uniform up and down towards gravity. I personally do both depending on how my shoulders are feeling and i got really nice 3d delts. Bonus: You can lift more when you're holding on tight. It's mainly because you can almost pull the weight up really exaggerating the stretch reflex.

@drewz423628 күн бұрын
Probably every 3-5 days when you are fully recovered. I know it’s a literal mind f$ck because you have been conditioned to train every day . If you progressively overload this is the most optimal way to do it . Not convinced just try it and watch your progress build each week concentrate on blasting one all out set to failure! Record your progress
@fizeekfriday28 күн бұрын
Drew nailed it - Billy trains once every 3-5 days. These days, he's leaning towards the once every 3 days end because he's split up his Back & Arms Day to be a Back Day and an Arm Day, and he's also increasing his gear and food intake as he's prepping for nationals in December!

I know that in the gay community a lot of the guys addicted to crystal methamphetamine love being on the receiving end of anal sex. I never tried the drug, but did have an encounter with a non-competitive bodybuilder who....well, he loved being on the receiving end of anal sex, and he told me in the morning that he had gotten high on crystal meth the evening before. So....arrive at your own conclusions. A lot of these guys are absolutely beautiful. BUT they are all juiced up with some really dangerous drugs. And the majority of them have shortened lives because of it. Is it really worth it just to look like some copy of Hercules or the Incredible Hulk?

Do you think if you dig a bigger hole into your recovery from doing extra intensive "boosters." For example: going to concentric failure, then static failure, then negative failure. Will this deeper hole mean more growth or just more wasted recovery? Will the extra recovery needed be worth it?
@momcilodjujic1Ай бұрын
I think bigger hole will produce growth in case when you reach plateau for some exercises. You don't need intensification techniques if you can progressive overload just on positive movement failure.

As a gym person I've been following a prescribed routine for years, training once every 7 days, should I shift to full body training to train muscles more frequently?
@gamesh0w4life69Ай бұрын
I do full bod and rest for two days. I have three workouts, I do A, B, C . Today is workout C of full body and next workout is Thursday. But it could be too much on your body as well. So 2-3 days of rest could be good too
@fizeekfridayАй бұрын
Keep in mind that whatever you do at the start of your workout is what gets prioritized. So if you do full body and you always start with upper body, that will get prioritized. This is why most people do splits (ie push, pull, legs) so that each muscle group gets its day and your body uses the rest time to repair that specific set of muscles. Frequency is determined by your genetics. Some people can train very frequently, others need more time for rest. Bring a logbook and write down what you do. If you can workout every 2 or 3 days and still make progress with your lifts, do that. If it's every 4 or 5 days, do that. Tom Platz trained legs every 14 days because of his legendary intensity. The real secret is that there's no set prescription for everyone. You have to take an interest in your workouts and experiment and find out what works for you.

@@gamesh0w4life69How often do you workout in a week?
@gamesh0w4life69Ай бұрын
@amarthyadevatha8420 I don't really count the days for the week. So for example if let's say I workout on a monday which is workout 1, and the next work out is thursday which is workout 2 and sunday would be workout 3 you can say I workout out 3 x days if the week. But then the cycle begins again. Workout 1 is Wednesday, saturday workout 2 and tuedday workout 3. That means I only workout twice that second week but my 3 workout ended on Tuesday. So again I don't go how many times I work out in the week. But I always workout out every 2 x days. Allowing my body to recover 48 hours if I need a third day that's is fine. And I agree with fizeekfriday on everything always log in your workouts and recovery and genetics depends on individually.
