Hi, new OSRS player of nearly 2 months here. This game without quest helper is VERY hard! I use the partial assist and read the quest/NPC text because for me this is what make the game feel more alive and helps shape the world. Sure, I get the quest panel like in other MMO telling/reminding me what I have to do but I feel it's not too much compared to full assist and it still give me a genuine organic experience of the game as partial setting does not sells out the quests answers to me right away and I also don't get stuck if I need a hint. That being said, you have to want to read the text to get that sweet MMO experience. I also play the game "blind". I only use Wiki & quest helper. No guides on YT of any kind. Just stories of OSRS like the Falador massacre and such. Maybe it adds to the magic of discovery. My verdict : I don't think I could play without the quest helper.

no, main game takes way too long and its played mostly by you all +30 yo players, and I have no fucking idea where you get that time from and I dont even want to know. osrs is cool, but it needs higher xp rates, thats all, and some minor qol updates like let me click ore once and mine it for some time, same like trees. if project zanaris gonna make this game more approachable then its a good thing. I do not listen to anyone's opinion about this game who passed level 60 mining by hand, because there is cleary something wrong with you and you have wicked sense of having fun. Dont worry, they wont remove you main game, and most def they wont lose players due to this change, they might only gain new ones that would love to play osrs without abandoning basic tasks from real life.

dude 90% of people playing the game have done the quests 20+ times ... being able to zombie mode questing on a new account is literally the only fuckin bonus you get when making a new acc lmao.. it is all recycled boring ass shit nobody wants to train and do quests they just want the finished build of an account. jagex be doing too much lately ... we all know what happens when these idiots do to much... i wish they would just fuck off tbh and focus on there gay rs3 and leave osrs the way it is. soon they will release eoc on osrs and cause thousands of suicides again ...

the point of runescape AT ALL is self direction and the satisfaction you get from grinding out rare items and skills. the people who are into that will not just leave and play private servers, not for long. If you've ever played private servers, you'd know how old they get after a while. You ALWAYS go back to the main game. No matter what. There'll be a small fraction of people who only play the private servers, who cares? The game is probably 45% bots at this point anyway. Some people just wanna fuck around with end game content and have a good time for a few weeks. Big deal

Runescape is not quest driven. You can reach 99 without completing many quests at all. You can play the game without quests.

temple trecking seems way more boring. i do slayer while watching netflix. and its profitable. and you have a change of scenery. slayer is perfect for me because i dont want to do the same thing or look at the same screen for more than an hour unless im really afk.
