Spent half of my teenage life fishing off this pier in the 80's. My favourite spots were the lifeboat house and the opposite side near the boat launch slip but I know they only allow fishing off the arm now. The whole pier used to be very snaggy but it was good fishing. Still go, mostly off boat, kayak or beach now.

Go up towards Bournemouth , opposite the land train garages and Zig Zag path, there are two large groins with concrete and railings. This is an excellent spot for Sole Gurnard and School bass, especially after dark.👍

Used to enjoy fishing there, untill they put all those stupid ' wind chime ' things there. It's too expensive, and Bournemouth pier is even worse with that Zip line.

Nice idea; but probably too difficult to arrange at the moment, as I split my time across quite a number responsibilities and interests, including coarse match fishing, which take me away from my local area. Keep watching a range of KZbinrs and just keep trying - you'll learn more by just doing it yourself. Good luck!

@rodsangleuk6283

At Hastings its generally 3 hrs either side of high water. At Dungeness it depends on which mark you are fishing. At coastguards and to the right at the point its better towards low water.

@rodsangleuk6283
@rodsangleuk6283 28 күн бұрын
Many thanks for that. Boom rigs don't always work - sometimes fish will shy away from them; but they do help nail your baits to the seabed and bites show up well.

Yes - I mainly fish with small baits and hooks; but still get a fair number of decent fish. Fishing big baits and big hooks, you'll increase your chances of getting better fish, but are unlikely to catch the small ones, so are more likely to blank.
