I topped the UK nationals UTW back in June with forgs and worked with Allisdair during testing and the creation of this deck and we've played this deck religiously for the past 7 months. I don't think saying game 1s are all luck based is a fair conclusion to make given limited unranked testing, and then 8 games on DB ladder. Allisdair held rank 1 on high ladder with this deck, it got 1st and 2nd at the LCQ, and then 7-0 at worlds - do you truly believe this all to be luck? I think there is quite a major misconception about this deck that it is all about OTKing, to the point where when people have to play out of the hands where they don't open the nuts they just have no idea what they are doing with the frog engine alone. I see the deck as more of a tempo deck. This may lead into why you think the deck is better post-side as you have trap cards and caius to pair with the frog engine, when in reality they aren't needed game 1 if you play the frog engine correctly.
@VaughnGear6 күн бұрын
@@Adam_Shek You have to acknowledge that there are a lot of resources in this deck that has to do with probability. Just on that aspect alone when compared to the other meta decks, it does have a higher ratio of needing luck to succeed. Now understand that there is a big difference in stating that the deck revolves around luck and that he needed luck to win. I had said in both videos (this and the last one), that he is amazing at piloting the deck because not only can he manipulate the probability by deck thinning for follow-up plays to increase his ratio, which is a good strategy but it's still a strategy that revolves a little bit around luck. He also knows how to alter his deck when it comes to side decking (which if we're being quite honest 60% of victories for Edison Format revolves around side deck). How he utilized his side deck, this is where he really shines because it showed in game two and three it was the player and not the deck. But if you're still taking the deck at face value, that main deck still holds the principal of luck.

Took a similar build to locals recently. I’m not familiar with combos or anything and I smoked everyone I played. Nothing luck based at all. Nearly every game 1 was the same. Three of the four matches, g1, opp scooped once’s I started soft locking them. Most fun I’ve had with Edison in a while too. The amount of thinking this deck requires is the exact opposite of luck based.

Winning against bad players while talking shit in your video like a braggart just proves that you're as bad as your opponent. Regardless of your feelings about field spells, good goat decks were not running nor siding field spells for a reason. In general that field spell will end up being a brick and is neither removal nor an advantage accruing card, and it'll cost you more games than it wins you.
@VaughnGear15 күн бұрын
@@Carbunklle first of all, the original post was about testing to see if field spells were playable in goat format, the actual emissary build doesn't play fields spells. Now the only reason why this video was even made, was because the guy was insulting other players that was just expressing their decks, which lead him to challenge me and wanting me to record for the channel so that every one can see how he beat me but instead i won and he got mad that i still posted the video that didn't go his way. I don't see how im the bad guy when i did everything he wanted me to do?
@Carbunklle15 күн бұрын
@@VaughnGear What good natured person would make a video where they condescendingly talk down about their opponent the entire replay?? You made this video in bad faith, talking poorly of your opponent, and didn't even bother to preface your video with more than a marginal amount of ' proof ' that only shows that the guy looked down on field spells in goat, which is a valid opinion. You clearly got butthurt about his valid opinion which is backed up by results and statistics from WINNING lists that top frequently and proceeded to ego trip and challenge the dude. Your entire video reeked of you looking down your nose at your opponent, mocking and belittling them & their plays, while acting like a crybaby because they disputed your point.
@VaughnGear15 күн бұрын
@@Carbunklle i think you mis the point about insulting the players? I recommend you join the group and read the comments cause there wasn't anything directed at me, i only accepted his challenge. Your pointing out how i belittle him but is it ok for him to do it to people that are just expressing their decks? Your Mad that i put a Bully in his place? If he would have kept his comments directed at me, then none of this would have escalated but he wanted to attack random people for no reason and was taught a lesson cause of it. I have a rule here on the channel, you can write anything you want about me and my videos but as soon as you attack another audience, that's when I'll step in.
