Very good deck, but pro.b the least fun deck to face

I topped the UK nationals UTW back in June with forgs and worked with Allisdair during testing and the creation of this deck and we've played this deck religiously for the past 7 months. I don't think saying game 1s are all luck based is a fair conclusion to make given limited unranked testing, and then 8 games on DB ladder. Allisdair held rank 1 on high ladder with this deck, it got 1st and 2nd at the LCQ, and then 7-0 at worlds - do you truly believe this all to be luck? I think there is quite a major misconception about this deck that it is all about OTKing, to the point where when people have to play out of the hands where they don't open the nuts they just have no idea what they are doing with the frog engine alone. I see the deck as more of a tempo deck. This may lead into why you think the deck is better post-side as you have trap cards and caius to pair with the frog engine, when in reality they aren't needed game 1 if you play the frog engine correctly.

@@Adam_Shek You have to acknowledge that there are a lot of resources in this deck that has to do with probability. Just on that aspect alone when compared to the other meta decks, it does have a higher ratio of needing luck to succeed. Now understand that there is a big difference in stating that the deck revolves around luck and that he needed luck to win. I had said in both videos (this and the last one), that he is amazing at piloting the deck because not only can he manipulate the probability by deck thinning for follow-up plays to increase his ratio, which is a good strategy but it's still a strategy that revolves a little bit around luck. He also knows how to alter his deck when it comes to side decking (which if we're being quite honest 60% of victories for Edison Format revolves around side deck). How he utilized his side deck, this is where he really shines because it showed in game two and three it was the player and not the deck. But if you're still taking the deck at face value, that main deck still holds the principal of luck.

@@VaughnGearI think you just don't know how to play the deck in all honesty.

Took a similar build to locals recently. I’m not familiar with combos or anything and I smoked everyone I played. Nothing luck based at all. Nearly every game 1 was the same. Three of the four matches, g1, opp scooped once’s I started soft locking them. Most fun I’ve had with Edison in a while too. The amount of thinking this deck requires is the exact opposite of luck based.

Also agreed. It’s not an otk deck. Just a deck that can regularly otk but also plays full games same as any other deck.

When playing a tcg luck is always in the equation. Other than that those fishborg decks whether its frog otk or dream frogs require a lot of skill in order to play them. When you missplay with the deck it costs you. Knowing what to pitch or how to manage the resources is difficult.

why does the deck need 3 Des Frog???

Not showing any games you lost doesn’t really give a fair representation of why the deck is “very luck based”, from the 2 games you showed it looked like you would have misplayed a lot with the deck

@ you don’t think you misplayed at all in all the games you played?
@VaughnGear4 күн бұрын
@@tristanpugh2973 Feel free to elaborate on my misplays but that still doesn't change the ratio of the deck. He's playing 9 draw engines and Salvage at 3, which if we're being honest, doesn't really scream that you have to be so resourceful with the deck. Now, Keep in mind I am specifically talking only about Frogs OTK other Frog decks. Do not follow the same principle of how this deck was built.

@@VaughnGearfor one you only set one reckless to play around I Ari’s then immediately played into Icarus the next turn with brain and sub. The same turn you said to play around Icarus you bounce swap back to hand when swap hits over every def position bw monster except shura (why would anyone set shura) so you could have turned of Icarus by simply attacking and setting both reckless anyways.

@@VaughnGear You clogged your field with a Treeborn for no reason during g1, when you had dupe dupe flip uni, and it meant you had to tribute summon Gorz lol G2 you didn’t know how to combo and to “play around gorz” you made mist wurm, goyo and stardust. Now I don’t know how to combo optimally but I can confidently say that is not how Allisdair would have played it
