I can’t wait to NOT buy the Witcher 4 and give my hard earned cash to RebelWolves.
@driv3ver4 күн бұрын
Would you find the time to elaborate why you're feel such hatred towards Witcher 4 (or CDPR), yet praise Rebel Wolves? Knowing CDPR history of amazing games and experience in the industry I've a bit of trust in them. Surely C77 launch shoudn't happen, yet they admitted their mistakes, owned them, fixed it up, and released an amazing expansion, Phantom Liberty. RW - new studio without history, nobody knows if their stuff will be any good. Got only like 10 CDPR devs. Studio funded by NetEase, Dawn Walker published by Bandai Namco - means they don't have full creative and narrative control. Folk always mention that biggest punch for CDPR was Konrad's departure, and that he's best of RW weapon. Yet he's exactly the same person (game director) behind CyberPunk release, which was far from great.
@walnutwahluigi72214 күн бұрын
@@driv3ver all the developers of those games left cdpr and now work with rebelwolves. Also never said I hated Witcher 4, don’t start this strawman shite. All the creators of the great games that came from cdpr have now left cdpr and again now work with RebelWolves. This is my reason for having no interest in the Witcher 4 but tons of interest in what rebelwolves are doing because Rebelwolves have Witcher 3 under their belt, do you need further explanation bud?

@@walnutwahluigi7221 "All the developers" yet it's just 10 out of ~240 that worked on W3. So no, RW simply don't have W3 under their belt, CDPR though - yes. And it's key developers that stayed on CDPR. If you exclude marketing, cinematics, programmers etc. Basically folk who don't make any narrative and artistic works on games, then CDPR have most of those since W3. Please read my whole comment though ;)
@dr_diddy4 күн бұрын
@@driv3ver indeed more specfically there's about 130/250 devs from TW3 alone still working at CDPR, this doesn't include devs from CP77 which is likely higher. I know that Patrick who wrote the peralez quest is now a lead. That quest was one of the most intriguing quests in cp imo TW4 is probably gonna be dope, my only worry will be performance day one. I don't trust youtubers so I'll probably wait a few days for player reception personally.
@driv3ver4 күн бұрын
@ Performance is something I actually don't worry about. First, they need to sell to masses, so it got to run on medium hardware. Second if game is great it will stay great and one day I'll be able to play it anyway. Though it's CDPR and none of their big games launched good (W1, W2, W3 and C77 all were very rough at launch). All their games were also quite demanding for the time of release. Up until after Witcher 3 release they weren't that popular, so people don't recall, yet even W3 was quite bad at launch and they quickly made a lot of QoL updates. So for W4 I'll probably skip it till a year after release. Till then I'd assume all major fixes will be there and possibly an expansion so I can digest it at once. As once I'm in, I'm in deep and won't want to wait for expansion :)

Question - Why does CDPR not make linear games? Is it a creative decision or business decision? You guys are incredible storytellers and I would love to experience a linear campaign from you guys.
@driv3ver4 күн бұрын
You can, in Thronebreaker, still has decision making that IIRC makes for ~27 endings, yet it's a typical linear story driven game from CDPR. Has even Geralt there for a short moment.

@coldfire226 күн бұрын
I don't want to play as Ciri in Withcer 4. They are, sadly, going that direction, so it is what it is. I will simply not buy Witcher 4. That being said, I want to play as Geralt. I look forward to the Remake and hope that we can go from there. Or maybe even have a future new game with Geralt. People that say, "but he is retired!" to that I laughed. "No Witcher ever died in his own bed." Geralt said that himself. And if people truly think Geralt would sit back and relax knowing there are monsters out there killing people, simply don't know the character. SOMETHING would get him back on the path.
@ElementX.5 күн бұрын
Shut up tourist! Geralt didn't even say that, it was Vesemir who said it. Geralt literally says at the end of blood and wine that he wants to relax.
@mrlucky91575 күн бұрын
Seems like you don't know the character. Geralt was ready to retire way back at the end of the books, he even gave his sword away. And the main reason for that was Ciri and Yen. So, it makes perfect sense for him to retire after reuniting with them. ["No Witcher ever died in his own bed" Geralt said that himself] - Geralt always wanted to die in his own bed. He says it because he doesn't believe it could happen, which doesn't mean he won't try to achieve it.

Yet that what's going on since first installment, as example - Geralt dies in the books. So yeah the very beginning of games saga starts with a huge retcon, not to mention other stuff in W1, W2 and W3 which simply were far from original book lore. What's even funnier, there's lack of integrity on the matters between games too. So, seems like they do now exactly what they did since always. CDPR has all the creative rights, actually what they write for games is frankly THE lore to the game universe. General narrative director is same dude since W1 Marcin Blacha (19 years in CDPR), his I'd say "assistant" is Tomasz Marchewka, another OG writer (~12 years in CDPR) since W2. With whole mass of OG devs behind them.

Friend, if you'd check reports CDPR is bound by law to publish for investors, shareholders and government agencies then you'd know your world can be summarized as fallacy. CDPR is in it's best financial position ever, they sit on a huge cash pile. Big enough for +/- 2x CyberPunk 2077 scale releases even if they'd not get a single penny from now on. Not to mention that their games still sell like hot cakes. W3 sold over 50.000.000 copies, CP77 over 30.000.000 copies, Phantom Liberty over 8.000.000. I understand that W4 criticism comes from fans passion, yet please don't let it become toxic, that's not a good way. I'd suggest to let CDPR cook, and taste the dish by yourself. Yes, it may not resonate with you, yet there's a chance it will be better than expected :) Btw. It's impossible to make a decision, that such a broad audience as Witcher community would unanimously agree upon. If they'd continue with Geralt, there would be voices saying they don't have any creativity, milking Geralt again and again, not respecting his retirement from B&W, that it was supposed to be a trilogy to conclude Geralt story.

Witcher 3 - it's almost 10 years ago, for a game dev to stay in one studio that's almost eternity, it's kind of natural in any IT work to change work places, pursue different goals, create own studios etc. CDPR dev retention is actually very high for the business of AAA gamedev studios. Anyway it's not always a bad thing either, after W1 almost everybody left, yet W2 came out great. Without input of ~60% of W3 devs (that left the studio) and a lot of CP77 devs, they managed to patch up CP77 and release an amazing expansion, Phantom Liberty.
@sirjoesphjoestar83617 күн бұрын
Yes, some of them left, IT sector is like that. CDPR is actually quite stable for studio of their size and character.
