I would suggest running ads for your own Smma business first and learning to reach clients through paid ads. That would be your practice. Or doing free work for ppl you know and requesting testimonials. Outreach is going to be a lot harder if you have little to no sales skills and little to no marketing skills. He has sales skills before he started his marketing agency so it was easier to sell.
